xcode and ios3 on ipad

Hello all, I'm trying to run my app on my ipad for testing (everything looks good on the simulators). However when I try to build the app to the ipad, I get the following error: A valid provisioning profile matching the applications identifier "com.someapp.someappname" could not be found. would anyone be willing to point me in the right direction?

Hi, Do you have your development and provisioning profiles downloaded and installed from your Apple Developer account? Without those, you can't install on an actual device. Mark

Surely it would be wise to update your iPad to at least iOS 5? This would enable you to use some of the features it includes.
