An About Page

Hello everyone, I am finishing up a second app for Android and would or need to put an "about the app" page. I was wondering what is the basic information that people supply on these pages and how to configure it. My main need for this page, is that I need to reference some material that I used and was planning doing so with this page. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for all of everyone's help Howard

Hi Howard, A standard HTML Doc page is probably the best way to go here, since there is a ton of information that can be presented that way. If you think it'll change often, then reference it via a URL, otherwise just include it with the app. If you are using a tabbed layout, you could make it its own tab, or part of a "more" tab (you know, the ones with the three dots). Then make the More page a menu list, linking one of the items to the About page. If using a Home Screen layout, then just make one of the menu items link to that About page. There was in v1.4 and I think in v1.5 a way to configure an Information page, but I don't see that option in v2.0 anymore. Doesn't much matter, though...I think there are ways to accomplish the same thing. Mark

Hey Mark, thanks for the input! I did use the simple menu to link to it and I like the idea of using the html/text page. Too bad the info page does not exist in 2.0. Do you have any idea or suggestions of what information I should include in the about page. I don't want to make it extensive but do what to make it somewhat full. Does that make sense? Thanks again, Howard

Hi @hashner13, I had a resource type page that I referenced my research and I also put in there a way to contact me for feedback/suggestions. You can also put in there why u created the app or inspirations about the app. Think of it like another page that you can say maybe u left out, feedback/suggestions, copyright info, research credit, so it's endless possibilities. I hope I helped in some way. LA

Hi Howard, Some good suggestions from LA! I think the content of the app as a whole dictates what might be found there, but I've seen things like these: * Copyright information * Contact information * Company information * Privacy policy * References to image/content sources (like if you got images from wikipedia or something) Those are just a few that come to mind. I suspect much of it may already be covered in your app, but perhaps not. Mark
