AT53 Video plugin Question

Can you guys tell me what the AT53 video plugin can do for iOS that using the custom url plugin can't do? I use the custom url plugin to play all my videos in iOS. I have downloaded the plugin ready to use in my Android project, just need to know if theres any additional benefits in adding to my iOS project :)

With this plugin, you could download some videos (youtube, etc) and place them into your xcode project ("compiles" videos right into your app), then have users be able to watch those videos without needing to stream (so no buffering, and they can watch it offline, super useful). Very awesome plugin made by very cool guy, would recommend it any day. Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com

hmmm, you can do this anyway by adding the video (mp4) to your xcode project and play via custom url plugin. I was just wondering whether it offered any advanced functionality. Think I will stick to my existing method for iOS. Of course I have purchased this plugin for my Android project :)

Hi Walms, Awesome you have it purchased, but just for more info: There's also additional features that you CAN'T do the way you described, like having it embedded into the app, customize the video description and the video thumbnail image, configure a screen to load when the video is done playing, etc. Take a look at the description and screenshots: https://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/plugin.php?pid=3C06F75263AE92A0B802F44 Definitely should take advantage of it now that you have it anyways ;) David https://buzztouchmods.com

what do you mean by "having it embedded into the app" do you mean playing the video without opening native video player i.e exiting current screen. Or do you mean having local video in your project? Guess im going to have to play around with it :)

Thanks for the interest/purchase! Hope it fits a need. There is a a bug with the plug-in on ios6 we're still trying to sort out- but aside from that, the main advantage of using this plug-in over a Custom URL is that you remove the 'UIwebview' from the equation. The Custom URL is going to launch the Youtube player in a UIWebview and possibly draw you out of the app. This plug-in uses the native iOS Media Player. It won't play the video inside an existing screen, but it doesn;t exit the app. @mrdavid makes great points about the other features. thanks :) my other favorite feature of it is I no longer have to use itunes to put videos on my device either.
