Do not find any documentation for creating executable file for iphone so that app can be distributed

We have a documentation to compile iphone app so that we can test on emulator but do not find any training on how to create or sign app so that it can be distributed on apple market. Also can i create distribute able app for client so that client can distribute it on apple market? If yes then what are the steps or what details i will need from client? thanks

Easy: 1 - build your app 2 - set up your app in iTC as well as your provisioning info 3 - In xcode, go to product -> archive in the menu (make sure your deployment target is iOS device) 4 - when your build is done, in xcode, hit shift-command-2, in the tool bar go to archives 5 - go to your apps, and hit distribute. Now just follow the steps to submit.

Hi Coderx, that documentation almost have all the answers to my questions. But i have one last question, Can i build or compile app for client and can i send it to client so that he can upload on apple store himself? If yes then should i have to take his apple developer login to create certificates for him? Make sure i will do compilation for him and will provide him files necessary for uploading on apple store and he will do the rest step which is required during upload. thanks

Waqasnu: you can built the code and then email the source to your client. The tricky part is creating provisions/certificates. If you see your client face to face then it's a lot easier since you can create the provisions/certificates in person on their laptop/desktop. If you don't see your client face to face the you will have to ask for remote access to their Mac to install provisions/certificates on their device. Hope that helps.

OK so it means we can not create files like we create apk file for android that we can easily send to person so that he can upload on android market himself. So that is the limitation by apple thanks

@waqasnu: You are correct. You can send an IPA (Apples equivalent to APK) to your client. You will need to create a adhoc certificate that relates to that IPA file. Also authorize your clients iphone, ipad under your Developer profile. Therefore, they would be able to "install" the application you have made. HOWEVER... If you were to send the IPA file to your client, he could NOT just upload the IPA file to the store (very different from Android). I hope that makes sense? And it sounds like you get the idea from the post above:)
