open pdf in app and save

Is it possible to create a BT app that lets you open a pdf document in the app and save it? I'm thinking something like the Goodreader app, but an app that is more than just a pdf viewer. In other words, I could send a pdf to myself in email, use the "open with" button and select my BT app. That would open the app, display the pdf document (probably with the PDF Viewer plugin), and then have the option to save the document in the app for later viewing. Ideally, I could apply a tagging system where one screen in the app would show me my "tags", and clicking on one of the tags would show me my documents with that tag. Clicking on one of those would open the PDF Viewer screen and display the doc. Does that make sense? Is it feasible, or only with some serious XCode programming?

Hmm I'll look into this... I know a "print" button can be done. But it seems a little more complicated to do then said. People would VIEW and SAVE the pdf's IN the plugin? David. https://buzztouchmods.com

well, they would save the pdf's in the app, so to speak (like in the BT_docs folder or something).

It's certainly possible, but that's a heck of a plugin for pdf editing + saving. That's more of two plugins actually (one with a menu of saved pdf's and one with editing). As far as opening a pdf, that has to do with editing plist files/ sort of "registering" your app to open files of that type. Then you'll need to write some code in the appDelegate.m to handle the "opening of that file".

Use the save button and set it to open a dataURL to the Dropbox link for your PDF. Here your user can sign in to add the file to their Dropbox account. All folders & files now have public links enabled. In short: PDF native to your app with a link to the online copy (on Dropbox) To see it in action check out my app (version 2.1) when it is live. (with apple now) version 2.0 is live on the App Store now but only uses email the documents, this also allows users to save PDFs etc from your app to pc/mac https://itunes.apple.com/app/iteachsmart/id456090603?mt=8
