Creating a forum in app?

Hi, I've seen some apps (e.g. Flyertalk) which integrate with forum's on their webpage www.flyertalk.com Is this something that is possible with BT and / or easy to do on xcode? I don't have a forum on my website as yet but once I do include it, I'd like to integrate it if possible. I don't know if there is a particular forum provider which works best with app integration. Thanks Jonathan

No, do you have your own website? If so I have a really cool forum script I am getting ready to add to my site. It has its on style sheet so you can customize it anyway you like.

I'm also looking for a way to have a forum on my app, that only app users can use. I have a web site, but I'm really only using it to hold the content for the app. I don't want people to go to the website to use the forum - but rather use it only within the app. Does this make sense? Could your script work this way? Thanks

@MadRod I just found a full forum package script that I am going to set up today! it is simple, but it allows you to fully customize it, as it runs its own CSS3(style sheet) so you can change color, logos, ect. The best part is no database is required to run the forum. Let me work on this for a bit so I can show you guys. I will get back to you in a few hours I need to have breakfast with my daughter. Be back in a bit with that site address. See ya. Tony.

I made a forum with Tal.ki where you can create an embedabble forum and then use the HTML screen.

Thanks for the tips. Sounds like I should do a bit more research and homework. I'd love to hear about your experiences @magic_man when you've had a chance to have a go. Jon

@shaq77 tal.ki looks interesting (and simple). Did you use in a published app?

Awesome. I'll download it now. Are people able to use the forum through the app and website? Are you using the free version of tal.ki?

People just use the forum through the app and I am using the free version, however it doesn't seem to be as popular in the app as other features I have.

Yes, I see it in the app. I suppose css isn't available with free version (or maybe even paid?). If it was possible to make it responsive design, it could be more popular. thanks for sharing.

You can use Vanilla forums, they have a mobile theme so it'll look good on all mobile devices. Then you can easily display it using a URL plugin.

$49 a month (minimum) Vanilla forums is a bit steep for me. Maybe I'm missing something, and there is a free version?

Ok all I am sorry for the delay. This is a very basic message board script and it is free! The best part is it can be customized to fit your needs. The font, color, style, etc can be edited. You can add logos to the header and footer. I kept it basic tonight, but in the next day or so I will be added header logos and and changing things around. This forum does not require a database! You need to have a hosting account that will allow you to upload files. You can implement it on your site and throw it your app via the URL plugin. This way it is the same forum no matter If you are on your main site or mobile app. Once again you can change font size and layout because you control the CSS! Which will make it look better on the mobile side. You can also set up mobile CSS to keep it seperate from your site CSS. Http://Www.kristodesigns.com/mboard Anyone interested I will pass it along. Tony

http://vanillaforums.org/download This will download it, it's free. You can pay the 49.99 to pay for hosting and a few extra features, but you don't really need 'em. Here's a tutorial on installing it on a server: http://vanillaforums.org/docs/installation

@Tony, could you pass along the script (and instructions possibly)? I'd like to try out that message board. Thanks.
