I had 4 or 5 PM's in my BT account before I realized that option even existed! Right now I'm on the forums almost every day, but I'm sure there will be a time where I take a break for a little while, in which case having email notification would be important. If you go to your account and hit email settings you'll see the option ( check box) to receive emails when someone sends you a message. Shout back if you can't see the option.
