Android advice

Guys, I'm seriously considering embarking on android development. I'd be so grateful for some advice please.. - Is there an equivalent to iTC where you can track sales, etc - What is the best device to develop for or do the apps scale up and down automatically Many thanks, much appreciated.

I use Destimo for tracking my app sales and other stats. Appannie is another service which is useful to track your app sales record. Recently appannie have extended their services to android too. The development process for android is really a bit tricky thing mostly because there are many sorts of devices with range of screen size. The difference in screensize causes the app look beautiful on some devices (specially with more than 4 inch screens) where as the same app looks awfully ugly on devices having screens below 4". There is no way to avoid this since all the devices below 4" (including 4") come under category normal screen and devices below 3" come under small screen category.

Ok, so you develop for the bigger screen and it downscales automatically? I use app annie for my iphone app sales but wondered if there is an official way that you can keep track of actual android sales, the equivalent to iTC? Many thanks for your help Sandeep. :)

Yes the app layout downscales to the screen size but as i told the app looks ugly on smaller screen devices. The best option is to manually disable the devices you dont want the app to get downloaded in the developers console on google play. At present there is no official way to keep track the sales of play store. The google has recently (yesterday) launched the new developers console which looks better than the old one and has some new features. But this is nothing in comparison to what other services offer.
