driving locations in map plugin

I'm trying to include driving directions in my app using the app plugin (clicking on the label should exit the app and open the native maps app and show driving directions). However, I keep getting an error message saying "It appears that device location information is unavailable. This feature will not work without location information." Is this because I have the "do not start GPS on launch" set in my core app data? Do people turn on GPS tracking just for this reason?

Yes, without GPS, it will not work. Either let the users switch it on manually or do it automatically as soon as the App starts.

Okay - so I just created a screen that launches the native maps app with the specified address - that seems to be a good workaround. Is there plans to support the new Maps application from the "launch native app" screen? (it seems to open maps.google.com in safari on iOS6)

This is still something David and the other Buzztouch Coders are working on. Should be done in the next 2 weeks if I have to guess.
