I am addicted to Buzztouch

I think it's time for another overly attached girlfriend/programmer speech. My name is Andy Kitts and I am a Buzztouchaholic. 8 months ago I stumbled across this site. I have gone from a complete novice to a slightly more knowledgable novice. I have started to love the code, I feel like I'm in the matrix now, (all be it a toddler in the matrix.) I'm loving Game Center diving into the crap and I'm loving the new frameworks in ios6 mastered the social one. I'm starting to understand what the damn code means. The plug in market another cause for distraction have watched David and warrens video now I can integrate into the control panel and make more complex plugins. The funny thing is I haven't had an app published (grrr apple fingers crossed) I have a plugin in review and a second in tonight. But what's mad is I'm enjoying messing around and using the code that I ain't that bothered about not getting stuff published. I'm loving the forum I love answering questions, reading new ideas and frameworks. Bloody hell I've even made a YouTube tutorial on rev mobs ( scouse accents aren't for YouTube kidda) I have to listen to stobes buzz cast religiously. Even try and stay up till 3 to watch a live webinar (epic fail) but great stuff guys learning alt. For newbies reading this (If you haven't fell asleep) , you will love this software/site. If you've got an idea (I'm lacking) you can create it. If you need help someone is always there in the forum. I'm loving buzztouch (my misses ain't) Much love to all you Buzztouchians, Thanks David and the buzztouch gang. Thanks stobe for the podcasts. Ps don't drink and code or you end up gushing like this. VIVA LA BUZZTOUCH

Yep. Once you get the buzzbug just reading and learning is as much fun as making apps themselves. Wish they spent more time teaching me coding at school instead of lots of useless stuff like what types of clouds are in the sky, might have been a but better off for it, but now i have discovered buzztouch its like a new lease of life so i know exactly what you mean.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. It makes coming home from a rough day of the "normal grind" worth while. Good luck with your app submission!

Hey Kittsy, What time do the pubs close in Liverpool ? I've just run out of beer, whiskey and wine here. If your offlicence is still open, how about toasting a Viva Buzztouch and a Viva for each forum member. that should see us through till the morning. Forget coding, or we can try to implement the calculator plugin for counting the dead bottles. What ya think ?

Love this post Kitts! I couldn't agree more. I've tallied more hours on this site than any other over the past year. BT Rocks.

That's awesome! Laughing so hard right now! I am here thousands of miles away from home...with a stranger who now is my best buddy...found right here on buzztouch....I declare Buzzoholicness and am so glad for the connections!. Wow what an amazing day! Hanging out with David, Susan, Shane & Jim has been so worth it! Can't wait until we all addicts will be in one room! No need for 12 steps...just code on brother! Sheri

Could't agree more! I get a huge rush from helping others get their apps published! And I keep learning more and more each day, which is what amazed me. I found buzztouch because I couldn't code, but now I find...I can! Mark

So true. How is it possible to grow so fond of an online community? Real people are here. Kudos to @gonorthwest for welcoming everyone so faithfully, to @stobe for bringing us the voices of friends, to Sheri for a heart full of love, to David for giving us the technology to connect us as well as make apps, and to those who patiently answers questions every day. It takes a village to make an app.

GROUP HUG from the frozen tundra. Monitoring some database details tonight (from a hotel room in Minnesota) to make sure the first round of Plugin Developer payments goes through without a hitch. Hint: If you've earned some commissions, make sure you have a PayPal email address setup in your Developer Profile. If you did not before a few hours ago, but now do, expect a payment within the next day or two. I'm not doing this but do have a key to the kingdom! LOL. It looks like the gang is did the first round earlier and will do more tomorrow as developers update their pay-to addresses. A few hundreds lines of code left...then sleep...then the Android Lab in the morning with the Minnesota gang. Awesome!

Brilliant thread, I am sure we all laughed at how we identified ourselves in that first post. So true Andy !! Its kinda like going to see if Santa has visited the Buzztouch tree every time I log on... any new plugins, Buzzcast, any interesting topics or meetups. Gimme gimme gimme !!! No regrets.

Great post, I love this line as it really describes my life. "I have gone from a complete novice to a slightly more knowledgable novice." drinking and coding def don't mix. if they did i'd have a lot more code written..... community here is what makes this happen. there are a handful of app developer groups i've poked around in and they all lack 'community'. David really ties it together by just being himself. the community happens when people make the effort to post, like this topic :) stay warm up there and enjoy your visit to land of 10,000 lakes. no swimming!!
