??? NEWBEE - Graphic Software

I have an idea for an App. I'm trying this for the very first time, I'm clueless of what I'm doing. Since I'm an un-knowledgable App Creator. Can any of you guide me on the best graphic software I should use to make an app that would need animated graphics? Thanks

Hi @SixWheels, Welcome to buzztouch! There are TONS of graphics software out there to help you make graphics for your app. Check out GIMP as a super powerful, free alternative to Photoshop. And check out this link for a way to make animated GIFs online: http://picasion.com/get-photo/ Mark

Hi @SixWheels, Welcome to Buzztouch! I agree with Mark, Gimp is the way to go if you do not want to purchase Photoshop. If you don't want to download a software you can use one directly on the net, Pixlr.com is a good one but there are others. http://pixlr.com/ If you ask people about animated graphics most will tell you : Flash! Unfortunately Flash is not Apple friendly, is expensive to buy and you need to learn how to use it. So GIF is your next option, but the animation is limited. If your graphics can be used in a HTML page then you also have the choice of JavaScript which can make pretty good animations. Hope it helps, Farcat

From the Apple perspective, it's more that it's simply not supported than being not Apple friendly! Bummer, but that's the nature of the war between Apple and Adobe. Two other options : HTML5, and CSS! Mark

Yeah, I know, that was my attempt at sarcasm. Mind you maybe it is for the best. It forces people to think out of the box and use alternative methods (as you rightly point out HTML5 and CSS, neither of which are difficult to learn, honest!) Farcat
