Hey guys....been a day of it! So....thought I would put a tutorial up for all to help with the self-hosted server install process. During my video I noticed I left my "install" folder when I should of deleted it. So I deleted it....yeah...you know where this is going....everything flipped out and then I reinstalled. No problem everything looks good got a green little check mark and everything...but now I get this error: {"result":"invalid", "message":"serverError", "fromDavid":"Have a look at line 68 config.php in the root of your install, the software is having trouble with your database settings"} The root url is correct everything should work the only thing I did different is change the data base user because I misplaced the password. Tutorials are great way to learn ....even when you are trying to teach it....ok now I am stuck, frustrated and calling on the crew! Suggestions? Want to finish up this video ..and small little thing...get my self hosting up with all my apps that are in itunes. Thanks in advance Sheri

Hi Sheri, Like the error says: your database credentials are not right. I should check them again. Did you use strange characters like $ or % or &, etc? Best Regards, Danny

Hi Sheri, Sometimes the APP_DB_HOST has to look like this: define("APP_DB_HOST", "127.0.0.1") instead of: define("APP_DB_HOST", "localhost") Just a suggestion. Best Regards, Danny

One thing that caught me was that I changed my password in my hosting control panel(at hosting provider not BT) and I forgot I had to change the code to reflect the change in my BT Server files. Not sure if this is what you are seeing, but that one threw me for a second when I first saw it. Jim

Thanks Danny way from the computer doing errands right now and will get back to it when I get home. Grumble. Grumble... Sometimes it is good to just back away and go do something else and try it again. I will let you know the results! Hopefully I can have a video done! I want to put out a challenge to buzztouch family to get more tutorials done for David and the gang so it can free them up and they can focus on other stuff like plug ins ... So far I have up loading to server and a button hack ... My feeling is there are so many ways to do things with buzztouch that we all could put duplicate tudorials up... Whatever it takes to get the comminity educated :). Including myself. It's funny how you learn ... We did this on my military training "See one. .... Do one...Teach one" blending that philosophy here

Ok almost fixed but have an error. Honestly...don't know how jI got this far...ust rewind repeat the process......But now the error...It Seems like I am not the only one. All files are on on the server and seem to be there ....grrr :( I also get this error when I try to make a new plug in....man this has stumped me...hmmmmm

FIXED IT!!!! I ROCK!!!! Ok now I can tell the other two in the post my findings with was you have to up load all the folders again accept the "files" folder of course and everything is fixed....oh good material here! Video is going to be awesome! HA! What not to do when up loading your server. Have a client in the wings waiting for me to design his "back end" as PMDanny calls it lol (sorry Danny you know I had to use that phrase again) and I am glad I did this with my server and not his.....sheesh LOVE THIS!!!
