First time using Eclipse-Several Errors

I have imported the project via existing android. Also went to File>Preferences> Selected Google API 2.2 then I went to File>Refresh to get rid of the errors but the errors still exist. There seems to be a red X on almost every plugin file. Here is a screenshot of the console, http://screencast.com/t/Il8TXpULJ2GC Is this a very common problem amongst first time eclipse users? Any suggestion of how to get rid of these errors?

I see that you are getting errors mainly because you have menu list row simple advanced Backup plugin installed in your project file. Well if you have not used this plugin in your project, then the best option to get rid of these errors is to delete the java and xml file of this plugin. And if you are using this plugin instead of the default menu list plugin then you are in trouble coz this plugin does not work for android. The above mentioned plugin is from BTMods and is not supported for android moreover the xml file name should be all in lower case which is not thats why you are getting those errors. Removing these files should clear all your errors.

Thanks for your response Sandeep, I found another forum post and followed these steps which solved the issue, now all I have is warnings which I'm fine with as long as I can get it complied. Thanks again for all your help in the BuzzTouch community! "I bet your self hosted with the Menu Simple Advanced plugin from BTmods? Let me know if I'm wrong! :))) This is what I do to get it running ... 1. Download the source and unzip 2. Delete these files src/com/appname/BT_screen_menuListSimpleAdvanced.java src/com/appname/BT_screen_menuListSimpleAdvancedBackup.java res/layout/menu_list_rowsimpleadvancedBackup.xml res/layout/screen_menulistsimpleadvanced.xml res/layout/screen_menulistsimpleadvancedBakup.xml 3. open eclipse and import source as per the instructions.pdf 4. open the BT_fileManager.java file 5 Do a search and replace on the above file. Replace sparrakortenandroid_appDelegate with yourappname_appDelegate"

Nice to know you sorted out the problem. No, i am not self hosted but i have worked with other forum members who were self hosted and were getting similar errors. Yes, sometimes even the appDelegate gets changes to some other projects name in which case you have to change the name with your project name.

@Waystidd - I would forget that BTM Menu Advanced plug-in. Awesome on iOS but I wasted a good couple of days trying to hack that BTM menu to work. Grab the new Menu Simple plug-in instead. That works great on Android and it's being actively developed. @Sandeep if you need some self hosting space to test......

@Waystidd - One more thing. If your project is named 'buzztouch' you may need to change that as well. Looking at your screen shot it seems to be named "com.luup.BT_Activity_root" That can't be right? To rename it Highlight it, Right click and select REFRACTOR from the submenu. Then select rename and that will probably fix a ton of your errors.....

use a name without the ".", that period in the name seems like a disaster waiting to happen.... Display name is in the Android Manifest. This Android stuff is tricky. It might be easy to start a simple new project as a test to start with. I see you have plug-in added that are not Android compatible. Delete thos files so they don't cause headaches. also plan to do a lot of CLEANING of your project, esp when you edit the manifest. and document your steps carefully when you have success. remember what works!

Definitely agree with the Atrain .... "I would forget that BTM Menu Advanced plug-in. Awesome on iOS but I wasted a good couple of days trying to hack that BTM menu to work."

I made sure that anyone downloading that plugin from BTM would understand it would not work for Android - but did not do so until recently :-( If you're using it for iOS by all means do NOT forget it, it's a awesome plugin with advanced features that surpass menu simple. Here's a guide to fix it to work with android by javooo: https://www.buzztouchmods.com/downloads.php?cat_id=3&download_id=29 Cheers! David https://buzztouchmods.com

no question - BTM Advanced menu is awesome in iOS. use it all the time :) I feel like I tried that guide more than a few times with no success. MGoBlue does have it working and suggested adding a BT_Images folder to the res or drawable folder (I don't recall exactly right now but the same place the BT_Docs folder is) and that seems to make it work for him. In the end the main reason I moved on from it is because because I did want to hack it up a bit and drop some JSON points in the code to animate the header. This plug-in uses includes and does not work with the same index.php that David showed us how to modify. The new Menu with image does and I've had some success modding it.
