Blank Screen On Load

I'm trying to use the Tab layout but load a blank screen on load. I do not want the first tab to load because its a menu. I would like a blank screen with a background image to show. I also do not want the blank screen to show in the tab layout. any ideas.. Thanks.

Hi epicweb, It sounds like you might want to use the Splash Screen plugin. It displays an image when your app loads for the first time. This image will display for an adjustable amount of time, or until the end user taps the screen.

Hi parker.. Tank you for the reply. I have tried that but the tab bar does not display when the splash screen is loaded. Basically I want only a background image with the tab bar shown but I do not want the background image screen in the tab bar. Tabs: ABCDE load.. along with a background image. Thanks Again

Each of the Tabs in your app will be connected to a plugin. Which plugin is up to you, and I'm not entirely sure I understand what you want, but how about using a simple menu list for your first tab and not setting any menu items. You could set a background image for this plugin screen and it will be the first thing that loads when a user loads your app. This "blank" screen will be associated with the first tab in your app so whenever a user tapped on the first tab it would show them this screen with only a background image. Again, I'm not sure if this is the user experience you're after...

yeah I was hoping to have the actual first tab do something but not on load of the app... only when touched. basically it would be a hidden screen that would only work on load but its actually the home screen. If you have time and wanna see an example in itunes.. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lee-rebels/id529247351?mt=8

the other thing that is really cool on this example app is the scrolling tabs at the bottom.

Oh, I see. Try a button menu with its layout set to Horizontal and Bottom. You'll need to play around with the button size (literally the image size, and the set size in the advanced properties) but you should be able to get something similar. The buttons will even scroll if there are enough of them. You might need to alter the code for the Button Menu to get the alignment right, but it's a pretty easy fix: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=EC3B9206629009CFF2B4CDF Otherwise you might need to create your own plugin, or hire a developer to make one for you. There's a free webinar tonight on the topic of plugin creation if you're interested: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=94763885CD3DF6554141A89
