Location map missing plug-in

I have location map in a published app which has been working fine. All of a sudden the driving directions has stopped working. The map loads ok but when you click the info symbol to get driving directions it says missing plug in Any ideas anyone?

Reading this made me check my world cup 2014 app, which has exactly the same problem. Do you think an IOS upgrade did it?

I know that Apple explicitly requires you to provide the user the ability to 'not accept' location updates... That started with iOS8. But I didn't think it would kill an app that way... Try it on a device with iOS7 (if possible) and see if it works ok. If your device is on iOS8 you might also look into your device settings, and see if there is a way to 'turn on' location updates for your particular app. I 'think' it's under privacy, but I could be wrong... but it's there somewhere. I'll probably need to update a couple of mine too, I suspect. Cheers! -- Smug

There was a recent plist change that David published, to say the app uses location information responsibly. I bet the affected apps don't have it https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=4175A4651369824B6743BA4&fid=06DB0BCB08E2222&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1

settings>privacy>location services On> and the list of apps is there. My 2014 cup football app is on my phone, but not in that list and driving instructions do not work. Another app which I believe is older, is in that list. Location services is set to never and the driving directions work! And on another of my apps in the list, Location services is set to always and driving instructions work.

It's frustrating as it used to work and now it doesnt. But why on two apps but not on another. I can't turn on location services for the app. So what's the fix in simple terms? Will it need to be resubmitted to the app store?

Chris, yep, I agree absolutely frustrating - my published app used to work too. My last post shows that the app works fine if it is declared in the settings>privacy>location services On> on your device (as Smug pointed us to). So the question becomes what do you have to do for that top happen? Sadly, I don't know the answer to that. But as you have some apps that are OK and one that isn't, it's about looking for the differences. It might be as simple as a control panel setting.

We discussed it in a post that I cannot currently locate. But I wrote a little thingy on it... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/iOS8LocFix.pdf Hope this helps. Cheers! -- Smug Edit: In 'step 1, edit p-list' you can actually add both; no problem.

I presume the location plug in does not work as it should in iOS 8. I'm a bit confused as to why in two apps it works fine but just one has just stopped working. Will the location plug in be fixed to work with iOS 8?
