New plugin approved (iOS): The Design Menu

Hi All, Today The Design Menu Plugin for iPhone (portrait view) was finally approved in The Buzztouch Plugin Market. We created 4 examples that you can use to see how this plugin is working and what capabilities it has. Leave those boring menus behind you and create the most professional looking app. We also created some tutorial videos to show you how you can change the colors or use your own images to personalize it more. We didn't include the graphic files in the plugin to keep it's filesize as low as possible. This way you can choose what to include in your app and what not. For more information see: http://www.bt-addons.com/the-plugins/the-design-menu.html The (free) files to download: http://www.bt-addons.com/the-shop/cat_view/87-design-menu-plugin-files.html The video tutorials: http://www.bt-addons.com/video/the-design-menu-videos.html We hope you all enjoy this new way of creating menus for your app! Best Regards, Danny

Just finished watching the video tutorial for these plugins and then saw your posts. The screenshots of your plugin too look really good and the design meny plugin really looks very attractive on the apps. Nice work and congratulations on the approval of this amazing plugin...

@Danny, I received your newsletter (everyone should subscribe to the BT-Addons newsletter!) and saw that your plugin was released. In the future I think others will start making "themes/templates", If I come up with anything cool I'll definitely contribute! I downloaded immediately, loved, and rated/reviewed in the plugin market. May the sales be with you. :-) Great Job and Congratulations! David https://buzztouchmods.com

Danny, you are a crazy crazy genius ! I just called my bank manager. He told me that I only had enough to buy a six pack of beer OR a BT plugin. Sometimes I really hate him. Next time I hear from Apple "We did not find your user interface of high enough quality, we here at Apple...blah, blah, blah" Gonna make them eat 100 screens worth of Danny's plugin !

Wow, overwhelmed by the posts, reviews and very nice emails already. Thank you all for this and I hope you all enjoy it and show us your examples used in your app. @Paddy: Yes I hope that this will help a bit to get apps approved that otherwise would have been rejected. Hope we might meet in person someday: I'll buy you a couple of beers :-) @spelic & WaYsTiiD TIME: unfortunately this is not for android. With this plugin you use specific dimensions for the images. We can do this because we know the dimensions of the iPhone in portrait view. Because there are a lot of screen-sizes on Android phones, this will not work with this approach. Or at least: I don't know how to work around this issue. Too bad because I whish I knew how to tackle this for Android. Best Regards, Danny

Hi Jake, As far as I know should (almost) every app works on iPhone 5. The thing I can say is that it isn't specificaly updated for the iPhone 5. You set the images to the pixel. If you want to target iPhone 5 only you have to put in the dimensions of the iPhone 5. If you use this method then it will be too big for iPhone4 and below. Playing with it and being creative could lead to find dimensions that work well on both. Hope that answers your question and remember that it only works in portrait view. Best Regards, Danny

@PSMDanny, I hear you on not knowing how to deal with various Android screen sizes - but I really think it's important that Plugin developers try and provide Plugins for Android, because if you release an IoS version only, it's like releasing something for just boys or just girls - it's sexist (devisist - is that a new word lol) So to help out here are some peliminary resources I have looked up for you so as to encourage you to create an Android version, check them out! Good luck Danny. Hi David_Mollet, Thanks for your post. I know you're looking for Android plugins. Working with Android, at least to me, is another story. I don't know anything about it and it would take months/years to learn how to do things. I don't think it's like "releasing something for just boys or just girls". See it as learning a language: I speak a bit of English. I can help myself all over the world: order drinks, food, make conversation, etc. Now someone says to me: hey you gotta learn Spanish, it's a great language and the most spoken language around the world. OK, I'd love to speak Spanish but it would take years to learn this language. Am I willing to invest so much time.........? Well, that's different for everybody but in my case I'll keep myself helping with English..maybe in the future I'll have time to learn Spanish At last: Maybe there are some Android wizzards around here. I'd love to help getting my plugins ported to Android. So feel free to contact me. Hope you understand my point of view. Best Regards, Danny

This is a beautiful looking plugin, huge congrats! I'm doing something stupid though & can't get it to work :( 1: themes > non-tabbed layout > selected this new menu screen as my 1st page in the app 2: made graphics, imported them to BT in xCode (drag & dropped into xcode). Seem to be ok, as when I make one my global background image in the app it works fine. 3: Menu settings - I have 3 rows, 2 are graphics, 1 is text. I also have the search option turned on. Images for the 2 graphic rows are referenced in each row. I've gone through all of the advanced features.... Now - in this new menu, I put in a screen background image - it doesn't show up. What I see when the app launches is a pure white page with only a top navigation bar visible. So it looks like this whole screen (whatever about configering the bits in it) it not appearing even though its called in themes > non-tabbed layout. I know I have missed out on something very silly :) HUGE thanks, LOVE love love this plugin! Elaine.

Hi Elaine, Thank you for Loving this plugin, haha could you please send me an email to info at bt-addons dot com I don't really understand where it goes wrong! Have you downloaded the manual? Downloaded the examples? In the example packages are the graphic files, a manual and a screenshot with all the setting to accomplish the exact example. See http://www.bt-addons.com If you mail me we can discuss this in private and solve your 'problem'. Best Regards Danny

Hi Rad Doc, This is what I answered in your PM: Hi Rad Doc, I'm sorry: what do you mean with 'stripes' In the color field you should only use colors like: #ffffff or #000000 or #ff9900 or #ff0000 etc etc (this list of colors is almost endless). Let me know! Best Regards, Danny

Gday Danny .... First up a fantastic plugin :) A question - Can you by any chance let this plugin replace the stock Home Screen menu and if so ( I know you probably cant) is there a way to replace it in an app that is already 90% made ? Many thanks

@Sassy: This is possible: Go to the app control panel, click on Layout/Tabs, set the name of either the tabs or a home screen to the BTA Design Menu's nickname. Jake

Hi Thanks for your interest. This plugin has nothing to do with audio or video. It's just a plugin to create menus. If you're looking for audio have a look at the audio streamer plugin. Maybe that's what you're after. Best regards, Danny
