Data for this screen not downloaded

My first attempt to use xCode, and this is what I get. "Check your internet connection". My internet connection is working just fine. Any suggestions? Incidentally, I thought I had downloaded Apple Developer SDK, but can't find it on the computer. Could this be the problem? When I try to register with Apple Developer, I get a weird text page, with my personal ID and details, and some Chinese writing, and when I click 'continue' it just returns me to the same page. I've restarted the browser (Chrome), same thing happens. Sorry if this is not relevant here, but I cannot find any other way to post to this forum, other than tag on to a discussion that already exists.

No sorries needed...totally fine to ask this sort of stuff. It's pretty easy to know if you have the iOS SDK (which is not the same as the Apple Developer SDK, lots of Apple developers don't do iOS stuff)...have a look in Xcode when it opens, do you have options to "create a new iOS app" or "ios simulator" etc...? If not, you'll need to get Xcode from Apple's App Store (the big App Store for computers, not the App Store for iOS) Chinese writing on Apple Dev site...this is super strange. This is the iOS Developer Center URL I use: https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action You probably already realize this. Not sure how else to help?

Thanks David. I got the xCode from the App store that the computer leads me to. I have the iOs simulator in xCode. I can create "file/new/project/iOs app". The link you sent me takes me directly to that weird page with my details. I took a screen shot of it, but this forum doesn't seem to allow me to send a file. The iOs simulator is running, but always with that "Data for this screen not downloaded. Check internet connection" window. I'm now creating a new app, seeing what happens when I open it in xCode. Watch this space! Thanks again.

15 minutes later, xCode still showing "indexing / processed 0 of 37 files", and no files showing in the left hand column under the name of the target. Surely this is not right? Should I reinstall xCode? But Apple won't let me back to the download page, just keep flicking me back to that weird page. Any help greatly appreciated.

oh dear... Well, I suddenly remembered to click the little arrow, and there were the files. I transferred the PlugIns folder, and ran the simulator. My screens are now there. But when I click on the menu items, (which I have loaded up with either documents, or links to audio in my Dropbox folder, I get "Data for this screen not downloaded, check internet connection". So, same problem as before. I am grateful for any advice.
