Future of mobile and marketing

Here is a new article on creating apps for mobile devices. It uses some info from an article last week based on a survey of 5500 developers. The gist: create apps for all the platforms to hit the largest mobile audience. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/technology/mobile/creating-apps-for-each-mobile-market-fragment-is-expensive-painful-and-necessary/article4582677/ My recommendation: iOS and Android make up 85% of mobile users and trend younger so focus on those areas to maximize your time http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-of-the-day-smartphone-demographics-still-skew-young-and-moneyed-2012-7 Also, a little prediction that money spent on advertising will go from 1.5 billion last year to 12 billion by 2016. http://www.dmnews.com/mobile-marketing-the-7-solution/article/261629/ The PPC services currently in use are really not tapping into these numbers and resulting in revenue for developers. This will change soon I hope. Ryan p.s I'm a marketing guy and not much of a coder (codie?, code guy?) but I'm trying.

agreed, a couple of interesting reads for sure. ENGAGEMENT MARKETING is the big buzzword of late. Here's a great book put out by the Constant Contact folks on the subject. Good read. http://www.amazon.com/Engagement-Marketing-Business-Socially-Connected/dp/1118101022
