I don't think background images are working in Menu Simple on Android. I am working on self-hosted 2.0. In the same project, background images in Menu Simple are working on iOS. They are also working on Menu Buttons in Android. The only color I have set is a background theme color #00000. But a background image should cover up a background color, right?

Hi Susan, Any hints in LogCat when you are loading that screen? Perhaps it says something about the image or background? Mark

It does seem like BT has fixed this, I've noticed the change in source code i've downloaded recently. If not add the code ross sugests, that solved my issue on 2.0 Self Hosted.

That worked! Thank you, @ATRAIN53! Thanks, Mark! I just rewatched the Android buzztouchU videos last night, and it is amazing how many clues buzztouch gives us in the LogCat. I need to apply that to some other problems I can't solve.

I have had the the same experience on a BT 1.5 app that works for both Android and iPhone. My workaround was to set both a background image and a background colour. The background colour showed on Android, the image showed on iPhone and I live with that compromise. Button menu's don't seem to have that problem. Alan

Alan, see the link above from @ATrain53, because it worked and you won't have to compromise. I know what you mean about compromise, though--I always put the highest priority on how the iPhone looks, and then do the best I can after that.

Must have been typing and missed @ATRAIN53's great looking tip. Thanks for pointing this out, I would have missed it otherwise. Btw Susan, you seem to be one of the few who (like me) try to build apps that work in both platforms. I know compromises sometimes constrains the design - e.g. I miss having the use of a list menu with two lines and an icon for each menu item. Btw, I liked your Think Hopkins app, looks works well on both platforms and shows that it can be done. The little things like this background image that can be frustrating, I am building a little library for myself of these fixes. Now, if only I could figure out how to play background sounds in Android...

I am working on that right now, in the Menu with Image update. I have the background music, description rows, and row icons working in iOS, and Sandeep is helping me with the Android. I want to have it out very soon.

glad that worked. I thought BT fixed the source code and new downloads didn't have this issue anymore. it has been a week or so since I downloaded fresh android code. is this recent self hosted android code you guuyts are working with? if so. maybe a quick reminder to david to add this fix. he seemed aware. but a reminder might be needed. keep the fix in mind for HTMLDoc plug-ins. @susan lovin the menu with image for android. anything that improves or adds to that is much welcomed. it's my key android menu maker now. someday to figure out how to animate it when i get more into android coding!

Thanks, @ATRAIN53! I have the iOS all working, just trying to get the Android to work as well. I hope very soon to release a version with the row icon, the description line, and possibly a few other extras like background music.
