Transparent png icon

I have put transparent pngs as the icon. but when i finish the app, it replaces the transparent parts with black. so what happens is that in buzztouch i put a png with transparent parts as the app. but when i download the source code and compile it into an apk the icon changes on the device. the icon then becomes black with my images instead of being transparent.

if its in button menus where you have these icons, make sure you set the Button Background Color as "clear" and your icons will become transparent.

Same issue. My png's are converted back to white once on the app. Icons not buttons.

Hi, I´m having the same problem on my android. My APP icon is a circle, but on my Android it´s surrounded by a black background. Any ideas on how to change this? Thx in advance. Robin

Yeah, I figured it out. That is, the following worked for me: After you download the source code, open the project in Eclipse (well, in my case, dunno about iOS situation). When you open your Drawable folder you will see an image called 'icon' and one with the name you actually gave your icon (in my case ´appicon´). Delete the one called ´icon´ Now open your AndroidManifest and find: android:icon="@drawable/icon". Change the name 'icon' for the name you chose for your icon. Now clean and then save your project. Run your Emu. Your icon should be transparant now. I have to say, at first this didn't work in my Emu, but it did on my Android Device. After I installed a clean version of Eclipse Juno my Emu works a little better and show the transparant icon. If you're running your app on an actual device, don't forget to install the new .apk. Hope this helps. Have a good day! Robin

I can't even remember how I figured it out :) I think I read about it on the forum or stackoverflow... The search option in the BT forum isn't that great (No 'search in text' option) so I tend to just google my question and mostly I end up finding the most relevant links to the BT forum much faster than using the BT Forum Search Option. Good luck with your icon! Robin
