Not responding to clicks

Trying iphone simulator AND real iphone. Neither is responding to me clicking on menu items and buttons. This is ridiculous!!! Is anyone else having these issues? What am I missing?

do you have any actions/screens assigned for those menu items/buttons? Also, try copying the config data from Buzztouch and paste it to the file: BT_Config.txt in xCode. Refresh and try again. When things get rough keep trying until you get it :)

Pasted. Cleaned. Refreshed. Tried again. Nada. Even the refresh button at the upper left of the simple menu won't respond.

I had this issue one time with 1.4, and I never figured it out (had to build a brand new app) - what version are you using? David buzztouchmods.com

Any error messages you could share? Is there a message when you touch the screen?

I saw this once as well. I think I deleted the app from the emulator/simulator/device, rebuilt, and all was well. Mark

Happened once to me too. I think it had something to do with two versions of the same app on the same device. I deleted them both from the device and all was good.

@Susan, Mark, st, Alan, Yup. Deleted all versions on the device and simulators. Same thing. And no error messages either. Just shows one screen, tap, and then.... nothing. There is a chance with all the "]; errors that were going on yesterday that I missed some process, so I'll start fresh later today or tomorrow. Scott skype: [email protected]

A long shot, but when you first made your project build, did you manually copy over the directories that you need to into the xcode project (as per the instructions.pdf)? If not, it might give this effect.

Say, any apostrophes or quotation marks in any screen nicknames?

Nope. So tonight I deleted all screens, and started from scratch. Same result: nothing is responding to clicks.

When you built and ran the new app, did you have the old one still on the simulator? If so, perhaps the problem still existed there. Are you seeing anything in Console when you try to click and nothing happens? If this all checks out, you could shoot me over your downloaded zip package and I can run it through my Xcode to see what's up. Mark

Accidentally hit the back button I think. This space intentionally left blank.

Quick question - have you had this working correctly before or have you always had this issue ?

If you run into the same problem again, feel free to send me the code (confidentiality promised!). I can run it through Xcode on my side and see what the issue might be. MrkFleming at gmail dot com Mark

Alan: BT Mark:thanks. I will. I'm really thinking that somehow my provisioning or my computer is wacky. Contemplating setup on another computer to compare.

Because you are running on the BT platform, that eliminates your own hosting as being the problem. And as you have had things working before, it is a question of working out what has changed. I know that when I first moved from BT 1.5 IOS apps to BT 2.0 IOS apps, I didn't do the steps that are in the instructions.pdf and that caused me a lot of grief until I worked it out. If downloading your code from BT doesn't show any errors, it points to something local and your idea of checking on another xcode is a good one. You don't need a provisioning profile for the simulator to run.

Hi Scott, Just sent you an email, but for the benefit of others... The problem is that you have a Splash Screen defined in your Global Theme, but no actual screen exists for it. When I removed the info pertaining to the splash screen from your BT_Config.txt file, and ran the app again, all worked well. Total speculation, but I think what's happening is that Xcode is trying to load the splash screen on top of the Menu List, but it can't find it, but then never brings the Menu List screen into focus to receive taps. Total speculation. Mark

That makes sense. In an earlier incarnation, I was trying just to install a splash screen, but it wasn't showing. That's about when all this nonsense started.... and then forgot that was in there. Thanks for the look-see, Mark!
