@crazy android: We need to ask you to stop creating threads with titles like: "this is the code I"m getting now." It's apparent that you're unable to get Eclipse compile your source code using the proper Android SDK. The "setting up your development environment" document (windows and mac version) in the How To's answer all of these questions. Kindly make sure you've followed the steps @GoNorthWest took the time to organize in detail before posing more questions with vague titles. All of the questions you're posting have the same answer - Eclipse is not setup on your machine to compile your source code using the proper Android SDK.

We are here to help, and people are trying to help you. The idea that you would suggest that: I thought people were here to help" is downright offensive. All I'm asking is that you follow the simple guidelines that all the other members of our community follow. It's a matter of respecting peoples time and FREE offers to help you figure out the problems you're having and the things you're not understanding. Lastly: Nobodies "worried", and this isn't a "problem." It's simply me doing my part to HELP YOU get your problem solved in the most efficient manner.

You're not making anyone mad. It's totally OK. The idea is that you would not title posts the way you are - the title of your questions need to be a bit more detailed, that's all. I'm not sure what "book" I wrote you're referring to but lets start from the beginning. Can you compile any Android apps? Like the simple Hello World app that's demonstrated in the Android Learning Path? Oh, wait, that may be a good place to start. Maybe have a look at the first few videos in your control panel (BTU) about Android - that may explain lots? You probably have a very simple setting in your Eclipse environment for this app that isn't right. It could also be that you don't understand how to set the API version to compile for. This is totally OK of course, we call start somewhere. Lets do this Visit your control and watch the first Android video: "Understanding Eclipse." At about the :25 second mark it shows (on the left) that the project in the video is being compiled against the Google 2.2 libraries. You'll see where it reads "Google API's (Android 2.2)" in the upper left of the Package Explorer in the video. For your project, because you're using buzztouch v1.4, you'll want to set it to compile for Google 1.6. The rest of the steps are in essence the same but you need to figure out how to set the Android SDK to Google 1.6. This one single setting (what libraries you compile against) have a dramatic impact on the message, errors, outcome the compiler will output. See if you can get through that before moving on to more complex ideas :-)

Hey @crazy, The answers to all the questions you have posted so far are in the document I recommend you read. Like I said, it's a start-to-finish, step-by-step guide to getting going with Android. I highly recommend you at least read it through once. https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf We're all here to help, but we do expect people to give it their best effort to try and learn the basics! Mark

@crazy, Did you take a look at the PDF's I sent your way for setting up your eclipse environment? That should have solved the errors you were getting that you posted several threads about yesterday. Get back to me on that thread we talked on yesterday with the results, no need to make new threads - we can do it from your original post. I'm subscribed there so I will receive a email whenever you reply. Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

And if you'd like, I'd be more than willing to set up a TeamViewer session and get you up and running. I can check out your Eclipse installation, fix your errors, and get it running in the Emulator. Just let me know! Mark

Wow... New guy posts the same question a ga-jillion times (because he's not yet used to how the forum works), tons of us try to help, he doesn't seem to understand the advice or downright ignores it thinking somebody could magically reach through the internet and fix him up. Next, I kindly ask him to either follow the simple guidelines in the forum, or stop posting. This after @GoNorthWest tried mentioning the same thing in another post yesterday. Next, he seems offended, or got his feelings hurt and posts a "sorry, I thought you were here to help"... Next, the dialogue continues (not sure why, I figured he'd give up) and I post another thoughtful and meaningful comment (after you guys did the same thing a few times)... Now, a few more helpful posts come along and one includes an offer to actually FIX his setup in a TeamViewer. Like reaching through the internet. This is huge and I hope he understands the significance of the offer. I'm only posting this because regardless of what @Crazy comes up with or thinks of all of this or all of us, I'm more and more amazed at how willing we all are at trying to help folks. Even in the middle of the night! LOL. I expect that he'll be super stoked and appreciates it, even though he may not be able to express it that way. He'll be one of the gang in no time!

Got him up and running! Problem was some extra code in the AndroidManifest.xml file. Basically, stuff from the top of the file had gotten copied and added again to the bottom, which was causing problem. But he's up and running now, and the app looks good!
