Changes is what the world needs, and changes are good! So Apple have changed the screen size. As David said in another thread, it'll be a bit of hard work now (at least for him), but in six months time we'll be laughing about how this all happened. When the iPad came out, it was a pain for developers, but just two and a half years later, 250,000 apps are just for the iPad or Universal. Amazing. Yes, it's an issue we can't ignore, but seriously, it's no biggy! Andriod screen sizes are all different. Some have 4.7 inches while some have 2.5 inches. I'd relax.
