splash screen image too big

Working with xcode for the first time and trying to prepare my app called 'Guide to safe scouting" for iPhone/iPad. It has been out on droid market for several months and has about 3500 downloads there. Several problems, but lets take one at a time. When i compile in xcode, the splash screen image does not shrink to match "full Screen, Preserver Ratio". Ideas?

...a post note.... do i have to make it exactly 320x480? if so, does it need t be a different size for iPad? which leads me to the final question....should i just do a copy on the app and then make a droid version, a iphone version and an ipad version?....in other words have three applications on buzztouch to handle the three sizes of image?

I use background images a bit and I have not experienced an image resize issue. I mostly go for full size when specifying images but not preserve ratio, as ratios are differnt between ios and android. I go for 480x320 for small devices and 1024x768 for large devices. I tend to use jpg and on my current project I have one single app that works for iPad, iPhone, android phone and android tablet, so there is hope. Btw, I stopped using the BT splash screen, as in other posts it is not recommended for android projects. Hope that helps, Alan

Thanks Alan...so what you are saying is that my image for the splash screen needs to be resized (right now it is huge....like 1024x2400) and what should I use instead of the BT splash? can you point me to the right forum thread?

Worth beng sure we are talking about the same thing here. If you are using IOS, the BT splash screen (using the BT Splash screen plugin) comes in after the Xcode background image (a differnt image but also works as as a splash screen) and then that transitions to the app home page. So the sequence is Xcode splash->BT-Splash->Home Page If you don't use the BT Spash screen, the sequence is Xcode splash->Home Page I found that for me the BT splash added much value to the overall start process. The larger the image, the slower to load, so no point going bigger than you need and jpg compresses well. Hope that helps

Problem Solved.... Resized splash screen to 320x480 for iphone and 1024x1024 for ipad. Ipad is still off a bit,but the iphone pic works great....will tweak the ipad pic a bit more on Photoshop....
