Is there a 'search' function for this Forum?

Hello All, I've got a LOT to learn here and this forum seems to have a great number of active participants and knowledgeable people willing to share and help others. That's the good news.. The Bad news is I don't see any means of doing a 'search' within the forum(s) to see if my question has already been answered. That means I either have to waste time looking at all the postings (and invariably get caught up in something 'outside' of what I'm trying to focus on/finish) OR - post a question and then wait for someone knowledgeable to stop what their doing to help answer my question (one which they've likely already answered multiple times). SO - am I 'missing' the search function ? OR does someone have a 'trick' to find what they need quickly? tia, John

the forum search is a bit rubbish no offence david lol. Google what you need and add "buzztouch" to the end. That's what myself and many others do as the advanced search only looks for the header titles.

If you've got a self hosted server you could add my mod to pull search results from buzztouch (searches header title and content of thread). https://www.buzztouchmods.com/downloads.php?cat_id=2&download_id=23

Wow - that was quick. Thanks David, raveyd, and kittsapps ! Hopefully your advice will save me a ton of time and keep some more hair on my head. raveyd - that looks like a EXCELLENT Tool! Above my knowledge level a bit but perhaps I'll give it whirl on of of my secondary websites (which I can afford to crash). THX John

@kittsapps: Yup, we've heard that before. In the old days it was a simple box. Folks said "lame." The forum brought, Advanced search options. Still no go I guess. Open to suggestions on how to improve it :-)

It's the content we need to search as people don't always put the reason for the thread especially all those help, or I have a problem titles. Can't you get google search bars that only search in the site that might work

Kittapps, Gotta tell you I've put your suggestion to work and it works like a charm! Also nice to see David involved with the intent to make things better! It's unfortunate that so many post using 'I have a problem' VS offering some clue about what they help with (in the post's title). One step forward in that regard might be to offer a bit of advice on how to do that properly via a 'welcome' email to everyone who registers to use the forum. THX everyone, John

@sun2son - that's actually in the forum rules that hardly anyone seems to read! (second link on the left on the forum home page)

The problem I have with the advanced search is that it is too limited. I'd like to search by post content, rather than just post title. It would be nice if there were both options - a general search that searched every field, and an advanced search to search custom fields.
