10.6 Rejection - What??

Apple are at it again, i submitted in my mind what i considered to be a well polished, content filled app. however they rejected it within 30 minutes of being in review. reason being - the 2 big ones. 1. Jarred page transitions - (with a screenshot of a URL page and the loading process image displayed on top) I think this is rediculous as it IS a URL page - it requires an internet connection and to download content - obviously the "Loading" process was, what tey considered to be "jarred page transitions" 2. Blurry or Jarred Imagery - i have an image gallery setup showing the TRUE resolution of images - enabling support for images uploaded by ANY device - not just iphone/iPod, the screenshot displays an image that does not reach the borders of the screen, but is in perfect clarity - unsure if they think that because the image isnt EXACTLY the size/resolution of the iphone screen that it shouldnt be allowed? Very frustrated at the minute..... screenshots - http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/David_Moulder/1.png http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/David_Moulder/2.png http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/David_Moulder/3.png http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/David_Moulder/4.png

I just went through this with Apple. The process is highly subjective. The app was totally fine. On my fourth submission I changed the App Name in ITunes Connect, and Apple approved it. I had heard that it gets reassigned to a new reviewer when you change the name. On a positive note, I improved the app each time I resubmitted, and it is a much better app for the experience.

Yeah i agree, despite the animosity tawards Apple right at this very moment.. i do see it as a good opportunity to develope it a little further. ALthough i have spent the better part of the last 3 months making it, most of the standard content didnt take long, its the small "customisations" people spend the most time on i think...... Thankyour for your input :) Dave

Did you have to re-upload the binary or simply changing the name does it? Dave

I would delete it completely in itunesconnect and resubmit it as an entirely new app with a new binary.

I think that the app looks good... strange you have been rejected... Makes me wonder if it is at all worth developing for ios.

I think it is a rather rare event. My guess is that happens once in every five or six apps.

1 in 5 apps is 20%. As an electronics designer working in industrial electronics, that is WAAAAY too much. I consider 2ppm (parts per million) as disturbing... obviously cannot be applied here, but as long as apps do what they should do, they should not be banned... God knows I have seen lots of junk where just one button is used... how about those then?

That is true. But you usually can get them through if you stick with it.

Thanks Susan, I have been wondering whether to go for ios development. I will need to purchase a Mac first, not very popular (although increasing) in this part of the world (Malta, Europe!)... It is easier to cut your teeth on Android first...

The real money is in the App Store right now. Android has its own frustrations--I am having trouble making Android look good on a myriad of devices. Android is better for certain markets in the US--I think more college students have Android devices. A lot of US businesses require their management to use iPhones and iPad in order to connect into email. Once you get a Mac, you will never go back to a PC.

I think you might be right in saying that the money is in the Apple store at the moment... just getting android to run on my tablet is really frustrating... I actually failed in doing so... I am thinking of getting the mac as soon as financially possible.

Zee - random post. I know this was back in Oct, but I just got the ill fated 10.6 after months of work. What a blow. I hope your experience since those months that followed has been a good one. I'm going to use Susan's suggestion and delete/update with a new name. What a pain. Many good thoughts - hope your issue was resolved
