Useful link to set up avd's to replicate some popular devices, like HTC Evo 4g, Google Nexus One, Motorola Droid etc: http://mobile.tutsplus.com/tutorials/android/common-android-virtual-device-configurations/ Find your monitor dpi (to size the emulator more accurately): http://www.infobyip.com/detectmonitordpi.php

Noticed that too! Looks like some great tools listed there. The regex tool looks interesting as well.

EXCELLENT. So needed this. It's too bad you can't share share something like an .avd file with the settings and not have to build each one. Not too hard to buld with, but that would be even easier... A database/repository of those settings would be MINT. Even just a spreadsheet to keep handy. and I still want to tinker with that plug-in for screen shots with the device, keep forgetting about it! thanks for the great post!

Thanks ATRAIN, funny you should mention a spreadsheet. I found one yesterday that someone has started.. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlXAdnQtmZFZdHBBcnBmNlkwU0JxSGVaWnJyRC1nc0E&authkey=CL2OsNkG&hl=en_GB&authkey=CL2OsNkG#gid=1 And don't forget to have a tinker with my plug-in!

HTC One X - I'll get that in before everyone says Samsung Galaxy SIII!
