I basically want to hide a few buttons in my grid and if the user clicks on certain buttons I want nothing to happen. Thanks for your time. If you keep re-loading the "next screen" as the "same screen" you'll end up having to tap "back" a zillion times to find your way out. Too funny, I've ran into this myself a few times. After downloading the source code, find the buttons in your config.txt file and add "none" in the loadScreenWithItemId JSON property...like... "loadScreenWithItemId":"none" Should work.
