Welcome to buzztouch ... can I suggest a Google search will probably solve this one! LTE is the next generation of telecommunications protocols for mobiles devices. You've heard of 3G? Well this is 4G or 4G LTE (depending on your country, it's named differently in different places). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_(telecommunication)

Ok, love talking about this stuff so here's a bit of a lecture and it's perfect for the eve of the iPhone 5 which is expected to have LTE. When computers/machines talk to each other, they send messages of information that, for the sake of simplicity, turns into 1's and 0's. Now, every "frame", "cycle" or "mili-second" (if you will) transfers a maximum of about 3 bits. A bit is, a 3 digits that are either a 1 or a 0. The 1's and 0's could be a web page your loading on your mobile browser, it could be a mili-second of your voice/audio going to someone else (a phone call) or anything else that requires internet/ talking to other machines. So, what LTE is, is it transfers not 3 bits, but 16 bits of information every "frame", "cycle", whatever you wanna call it. This allows a lot more data to be transfered at one time, thus making downloading a web page, using your phone, ect, much "faster". Hope that all makes sense.

Technically yes, however you would need to integrate networking hardware specific to the phone, to the computer/laptop.
