Problem with Notepad plugin

The notepad seems like a great plug in so I just purchased it. When I add the notepad on one of my screens I only get a blank background screen with no options for creating notes (or even accessing the left button on the header bar). Do I need to redownload my source code and install it or is it supposed to be able to work by refreshing the device. Thanks.

Hi @ConfusedGuy, First, thanks for purchasing the plugin! If you are trying to add the plugin to an existing app, you need to make sure and drag the plugin files to Xcode or Eclipse. If you are on buzztouch.com, just buying the plugin and then configuring the screen in your control panel won't be enough. You'll need to download your project source again and add the extra code to your Xcode/Eclipse project. Thanks! Mark

Thanks Mark. That's what I needed to know. It's an iOS app I've already installed on my phone and was trying to work through buzztouch.com. I'll reinstall it when I get home tonight. When you say add the extra code, how/where do I do that?

When you download your source, there is a folder called BT_Plugins. That folder contains the files needed for the various plugins you use. That entire folder and its contents should be included in your Xcode project. When you download the new source package, which will now contain the Notepad plugin, you'll just need to add (you can drag the files from Finder into Xcode) the new stuff to Xcode. Hope that makes sense, but let me know if you get stuck! Mark

Is is possible just to copy the new plugins files to the project? If I copy over the entire project, I'm going to lose any custom code..no ? Thanks,

Yep, you can just copy over the plugin files! But you'll need to download at least the self hosted version to get them.

Mark, I want to know how to give the user the ability to save the notes taking. The screen i configured is based on the notepad plugin, but i see only the "edit" Button and "done" button. Thanks

When you hit Done, everything that's in the text field is automatically saved! Mark
