Custom HTML Loading time... does it matter?

Hi... again :) Implemented a few custom HTML / custom URL pages and just wondering if loading time is a critical factor in order to have your app passed? A few HTML pages (online) within my app are pulling forms and I count on a wi-fi connection around 3-6 seconds (at max) to load each of these. Would/can apple reject the app because this is taking to long to load? I would assume they test of a wi-fi connect and not 3g. Any ideas/thoughts appreciated :) Thanks, Ben!

Hi Ben, Probably depends on the particular reviewer. I've used my fair share of apps that have loading times in that timeframe, and they are big apps like USA Today or Time Magazine, so people must not be too concerned with it! If the form itself is not likely to change, you could consider including it with the app, unless it's somehow dynamically generated. Mark

Hi Mark :) Noted. I was just thinking about including it within the app today! (at the bus stop). I will try it out! To do this is it simply placing it into a offline HTML? Therefore the only time it would load slow would be on submission (connecting to the server), but I figure after people have typed all that data they are willing to wait! Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben, Yep, you can create an HTML screen, and just provide the HTML doc name. Then put it in your BT_Docs (iOS) or assets (Android) folder. That should do the trick! Mark

Thanks Mark! One last question. Is there a desired document type to put it in for mac? E.g. .doc etc Cheers (again) Ben

Using .html for HTML documents works perfectly for both iOS and Android. If you want to use the same doc for both platforms, avoid spaces and caps or speci characters in the file name, and just use a-z0-9. Then you'll be good'

Hey Mark! Made all my forms and 'About Us' page offline :) Made the pages loads instantly and for the forms that have to contact the server they are much faster now! Thanks for the tip! :)
