Android Testing / Amazon Store Issue

I've got several Android apps that I can't seem to get through Amazon's testing phase. I get the same report on each: Your app has failed a test case. Bug Description:App force closes. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Launch the app. 2.The app force closes. OS/Device(s)/Form Factor: 2.3.6/Motorola Atrix 2/Phone+Tablet. All the apps are live in Google Play with no bug reports. The only crash report I've gotten was on the Michigan app after completion of the quiz where the user got all answers correct. I've put the four apps up on drop box. Would appreciate if you'd test and report back successes/failures and type of device. I've tested on Samsung Galaxy tablet and HTC Infinity phone, as well as simulators, with no issues. Here are the four apps: Michigan: http://tinyurl.com/michigan-app USC: http://tinyurl.com/uscfootballandroidapp Alabama: http://tinyurl.com/alabamafootballandroidapp Oregon: http://tinyurl.com/oregonfootballandroidapp Thanks in advance.

Not enough pockets, or indeed SIM cards.

Grab one of those AT&T Go Phones. $100 at SprawlMart. Disposable Android testing phone. No Contract. http://www.walmart.com/ip/AT-T-U8652-FUSION-Android-Prepaid-GoPhone-Blue/17812999?findingMethod=Recommendation:wm:RecentlyViewedItems Unless your iPhone is Verizon, you can easily pop the sim out of it and throw it in the Android if you want. I'll test it out on the device I listed above. It's 2.3.5. Happy to load the MI and the Bama, NO WAY i'm loading that USC one :P

Thanks. I guess Fred posted something a while back saying there's some incompatibility with Android OS 2.3 and Buzztouch apps. No problems with 2.2 or 2.1 or the newer 4, but something about 2.3. We'll see. Look forward to your feedback. Thanks so much.

Hi MGoBlue, Your apps look awesome. I use Samsung Galaxy S os 2.3.6 and tested all of your apps on it. I did not face any forceclose error while testing on my device. However, i figured out that it takes a bit of more time to start the contents of your app (even the quiz does not start at once). According to my experience some of the bt apps do get forceclosed when some other task is opened while the bt app is running say like reading a mail that you just received by sliding down the notification bar.

THe pleasure was mine. I really liked the way you have used background image and the navbar image in your apps.

Hi - I tested the Michegan app on my ZTE Blade running Android 2.2 (Froyo). I tried it with my Internet access working, navigated the pages for about 5 mins. Then I went into airplan mode which I think is a good test ( and sometimes makes my app crash). Michegan worked fine, no issues that I could detect. Nice app btw!

OK. Time to confess, I didn't get to it, got caught up in my fellow countrymans adventures in the US Open tennis last night. Will drop back in tonight.

almost forgot to report in on this- Tested on Android 2.3.5 These apps def work better on-line. I'm guessing Amazon is testing as such because when I launch them on a device - not connected to the web - they display the 'something not right, error loading screen' on launch. You can click OK and continue. but then only the Trivia and More menus do anything. the rest of the screens/tabs are just a bunch of that 'something's not right' messages. The camera icon up top also gives me a 'Feature Not Avalaible' message. maybe make the home screen a page that works off line and it'll at least load for the Amazon folks? That would tell us if it's simply an on/off line issue on launch they are reporting. On-line they work great, exacpt for that Camera function. (Sparty this weekend and then 11 days until......GO IRISH!!!)

Ran the first two and played around, both worked fine on HTC Inspire running 2.3.3 apart from the camera function. Everything seemed to work as it should. This was only on Wifi as I don't keep a SIM card in this phone. Solid apps though my good man.

Thanks guys. Frustrating that Amazon doesn't give more details. Seems like they should work. @ATRAIN53 - The home page loads the news feed from rss include. I wonder if there's a way to do a custom error page when the html doesn't load.

Say, I have an app that seems to work fine for me, but doesn't work for a key person associated with a client. He has a Droid Razr Maxx Android vs 4.0.4. He is a web programmer, and so I don't think it's a problem with how he is using it. I registered with Motodev to use their testing service, but that isn't available for up to two days after I apply. Here is the description of what is not working: "It is when I am in any of the screen and hit the menu button. I get options that seem to work. But then when I hit the back button in the phone, it brings up that popup menu again and won't actually let me move back." I tested it on Samsung Galaxy II, a galaxy player, and a 4.0 emulator on Eclipse. I don't have any error reports on the Google Play Console, but only have 21 downloads so far. Here is a link to the app on Google Play. I don't have any error reports, but only have 21 downloads so far. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkhopkins2&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50aGlua2hvcGtpbnMyIl0. Any ideas for me? If not, I will wait for the Motodev/Intertek approval. BTW, the Intertek testing service seems to be free, and may be helpful with the Amazon rejection. Thank you!
