First app compile error - Eclipse

Hi, i am new to buzz touch and trying to build my first app. It is a very simple one with only one screen. I followed the entire installation of the eclipse sdk and so forth wothout any error. But after i import into the eclipse there is one error and 293 warning. i use the properties which is google API 2.2/8 and have this error. The error list show myfirst_appDelegate cannot be resolved - Resource shows - BT_fileManager.java error on line 467 - String appDataDirectory = myfirstapp_appDelegate.getApplication().getFilesDir().getAbsolutePath(); Hope someone can help

I am experiencing the same problem. I have create a couple of apps with no problem. I recently created an app an could not get rid of this error. I recreated the app with one screen and the error is still there. I have check the project properties several times. I am using google api 3.1. Help will be greatly appreciated.

I think I found it. Where it says myfirstapp_appDelegate change the myfirstapp part to whatever your project name is String appDataDirectory = myfirstapp_appDelegate.getApplication().getFilesDir().getAbsolutePath(); String appDataDirectory = projectname_appDelegate.getApplication().getFilesDir().getAbsolutePath(); if unsure of the project name at the top of that file BT_fileManager.java there is a line package com.xxxxxxxxxxx; that xxxxxxxxxx part is your project name. This will clear the error. But I am not 100% sure I am replacing it with the right object. So maybe problems down the road.

Thank nad, you have been a great help and relief. but i think this is a bug in the system, no everytime we make changes and get new program we have to do the changes. Doesn;t the guys from Buzz Touch see this or it is just the few of us that have this problem.

Wow! Thanks for the advice. Worked fabulously. I would also say that a simple copy and paste of the app name is a no big deal kind of problem considering buzztouch is far too fabulous!

Oops, spoke to soon. This didn't work out for me and wondering what I am doing wrong. Nonetheless I do not retract my statement that buzztouch is wonderful.

Hi gang. This was our fault! There was a typo in the BT_fileManager.java class that was causing this error. The myfirstapp_appDelegate" reference should have read... [yourAppName_appDelegate] These values are updated when you download the source code for your project. In this case, it was not happening because of our typo.

I was having the same issue along with another one. I was able to solve the fileManager problem using the directions above and then using the "clean" option under the project menu selection.

Thanks nadthevlad for your assistance. It works but there are still 193 warnings. Should i be worried about it. Also David, since you mention it was a typo it is a bug when we generate the code. Hope it will be resolved

The warnings should be fine. The bug was fixed. Just re-download the source code from the buzztouch site. Thanks for the fix David.

Thanks both the "manual fix" and the buzztouch team fix worked. Much appreciated.
