What does Default.png, Default2x.png, Default-Landscape.png etc etc mean? BT_Art folder explained :)

Hi All, Correct me if I am wrong, but BT_Art folder basically holds are the apps loading images. Below is a link that explains pretty well what every image in the BT_Art folder represents. (Note this is for apple only)... yet to venture onto Android. http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#qa/qa1588/_index.html Hope this helps! :)

Good stuff! I modify these images to contain the logo for my app, and use that as a splash screen. Since Apple requires these images, they maw as well be used for some good! Mark

Agree, I did that too. I have just confused myself though. What is the difference between say Default-Portrait~ipad.png and Default-Portrait.png? I understood iPhone uses either Default or Default@2x (iPhone 4). So I thought the default for iPad was Default-Portrait.png. Any ideas? Enjoy your weekend! its 5pm friday for me :)

Hope this links works. Check out the section on Launch Images, and map what they specify in dimensions to the images in BT_Art folder. Then you'll see what's what! http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/iPhone/Conceptual/iPhoneOSProgrammingGuide/App-RelatedResources/App-RelatedResources.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40007072-CH6-SW12 Have an awesome weekend! Mark

To confuse it a bit more. Ha! Not all devices require all of the launch images supplied with your download. We write the text on them so you can SEE them in the simulator while you test. This will show you what default launch images are being used so you know which ones you should change. No sense in changing a dozen of only a few are used by your app - right?
