In talking with Susan, I think we can expect some great improvements to this "header image" idea. The challenge with some of the more complex menu's (I think) is that they can get very very complicated for app owners to understand. Susan has some neat ideas she'll get implemented eventually. The support from you guys will surely motivate her to continue evolving this thing. I enjoyed helping her get this going and she's about as COOL as you could imagine. Stoked to see her get this done.

Thank you, everyone, and especially to David! There is one small change I hope you like over the previous versions. We made this to require only one image, so it fits all devices without dragging in multiple images. It just fits itself and no @2x for iOS. In addition, you don't have to choose between optimizing for Android and iPhone with your image size. Let me know what you want me to work on first for more functionality.

@MrDavid--that is an awesome idea. I have this funny picture in my mind about a short video loop where the person pictured winks at you every few seconds...like the images do in the Harry Potter newspapers and pictures. It would be a lot of fun to play with. I did a little bit of work with sprites in Gamemaker a few years ago.

I did some investigation on animated .png files once...like animated gifs...but they're not supported in mobile browsers. That would have been an easy solution to that great idea!

How about a simple "list" of images in the control panel for the header image. A list instead of a single file. Another option allows app owner to choose "animation type" for the images. Slides, flips, normal fade, whatever. Combine this with just the right images you could have a neato animation effect, a cartoon even if you so chose. @Susan, put it on the feature list, updates with new enhancements are super fun!

Nice! iOS is great here - but I'm salivating over the ANDROID. I've wasted more hours than I care to tweeking the BTM menu to have a header on Android menus. If this has some row height/font size control I'll be in heaven. have been sketching out my own Android menu with header and trying to find time to give it a try. so if this has the functionalty, $2.99 for this is a steal compared to how many hours I already know would have gone into making my own Androind plug-in! (David your animated header code you have posted before works great in ios menus, i use it a lot. Once i get a change to see the source code here I look at it and see if i can append that animation code to it.) Great idea for a plug-in, the android menu header image DESPERATLY needed by lots of folks. Thanks!!!!!

This plugin should do all of that, for Android and iOS. It doesn't do everything that 1.5 does, and those items will be a priority, primarily because they are low hanging fruit. Having said that, keep the ideas coming. I hope that you all really like the fact that you only need one image--I think it will save a lot of time. It also "works" for Android--on my test devices on Android (2.3) the images displayed too small in the 1.5 version (at the 320 px width).
