BT to Eclipse

What is the best way to transfer an app to Eclipse? Import?

Yep! Import is what I do. Here's a doc I wrote that describes the whole process I use: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf Mark

Best way? Mark prefers "import", I never use it. Doubt there's a "Best way". Most video tutorials use "create Android project". With Buzztouch use "existing source code". The latest eclipse version 4.2 changes the terminology to "Android project from existing code". My tutorial (How-To), The Buzztouch Process, is found at www.MySkylla.com Fred

Thanks Mark and Fred. I've been using import, but just thought there might be a better way. Kevin

I think it's the best way! It gets the project in, and you can do what you need to with it. The only downside is that all projects show up as 'buzzTouch,' despite being different source folders. But, you can change that, and I only have one open at a time anyway. What about Import isn't working for you? Mark

Yeah, because a package name of "com.yourappname.BT_activity_root" is SO much better! :-)

Try package name of "com.yourdomainname.yourappname" it is SO much better. Choose Buzztouch "App Name" in Control Panel Buzztouch project name will be auto created, modify if you wish. (No spaces allowed) Download Extract "download" to folder, use "App_Name" if you wish. When you create the Eclipse project it will allow you to choose your project name. (Spaces allowed) The package name will be defined by the Buzztouch source code. "com.appname" Use Android Tools to change package name to "com.yourdomainname.yourappname" Please note changing the package name does not change the Eclipse "project name" Trust me, you'll be much happier with the result. I'm extremely happy with the 'buzzTouch' method. It reminds me to whom I should be grateful to for the ability to even have this discussion! Mark

Yep, everybody on this site is aware of your article. You know what method I'm referring to...I described it above. But nice use of an opportunity!

I think you mistake the fact that the package name (perhaps you're actually referring to the Eclipse project name) you create in the import method is "the Buzztouch method". The fact that it's different by the "Create Android Project from existing source code" and both methods are Eclipse methods means it's not a "Buzztouch" method. Having your Eclipse projects named identically seems a poor method to use. Fred

It's simple, if it's not determined by Buzztouch, it's not a Buzztouch method. Fred
