XCODE not working as illustrated in buzztouch U

I am working on my macbook pro, 10.5.8. The only xcode i could download from apple to work on my mac is XCODE 3.1.4 I downloaded my app from buzztouch to xcode and put plugin files in the directory as advised to. However the panel on xcode is not similar at all to what was illustrated on Buzztouch. I cant even get an Iphone simulator from the drop down menu. Do I just have very old software or can I still work with the equipment and software I have?

It looks like you're running Leopard, which I would assume is upgradeable to Snow Leopard? Is your Macbook an Intel-based processor, or PPC processor? If you can update your Xcode to 4.2, that would help immensely, and give you screens like you see most of us use. Check developer.apple.com and see if you can find the dmg file. Mark

I'll assume the Xcode package you're running is "fine" because we've been doing this for several years and you can't be using something "we never used" - right? Maybe you don't have Xcode completely installed? Maybe see of some of the very old videos on our YouTube channel (check the upload dates) to see if the version of Xcode running is the same as the version you're running? Lastly: Apple will REQUIRE you to compile using the latest version of Xcode if you want to be in their App Store. If you can't upgrade to the latest version (for whatever reason), you may not be able to compile your apps anyway? Not sure about this but I think that's the case.

Regarding @David's comment about having to use the latest version of Xcode...we may both be in trouble on that! My Mac mini is only upgradeable to Snow Leopard, which is what I'm running. That means Xcode 4.2 is the latest version I can use. And that means I can't compile any apps using the iOS 6 SDK. If what @David says is true, and when iOS 6 comes out they won't accept submissions using previous versions of Xcode, then I'm sunk! Need to research this a bit for sure. Mark

Let's hope I'm wrong! They usually provide a little time in between changing their requirements.
