google.maps Issues

I have created my first app. I will not run in eclipse. The file BT_screen_map.java has errors. I have read, read, and re-read the instructions. I have gone through the training 3 three times. I have watched several youtube videos. But alas I cannot get the app to run. Why does this app not run "out of the box"? Thanks in advance for your help. Dahlien

Remember one thing that bt is some what different than other android apps in case of coding. I dont know exactly which youtube videos you saw for the tutorial but i think it was not intended for bt apps. If you want to make your map working then i would recommend you to take a look at the following link. You will get all the info on how to make maps working on bt from that link. Hope this might solve your problem. http://myskylla.wordpress.com/2012/04/18/buzztouch-google-maps/

Hi @Dahlien, Welcome to buzztouch! It's very likely that you have the wrong Google API selected for compiling your project. You might actually just have the Android API selected, which won't provide maps support. Here is a step-by-step, start-to-finish, illustrated document to help walk you through everything: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf Mark

What BTv? @Sandeep, thanks for the shoutout, but here's a more recent version of my Buzztouch & Google Maps article: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/42553454/MySkylla's%20Guide/Articles/Google_Maps.html You can also find it by going to www..com > Documentation > Buzztouch & Google Maps. It's a bit more organized and easier to follow. Fred

Too All, Thanks for your much needed help. I followed your instructions and finally got a simple app to run. Beyond the issues with maps and making sure that the appropriate compiler etc. was configured, my apps would not run in the emulator. I think this is because my notebook is memory limited (only 2G). I ftped the apk file to my app and it runs like a charm. Again many thanks Dahlien
