The new version of Eclipse uses slightly different terminology but it's basically the same. I have a photo in my how-to that helps explain. www.MySkylla.com > The Buzztouch Process. Fred

That means you don't have the Android ADT Plugin installed. Directions for doing that are in the document! Mark

Hello all. I have been trying to research the same issue regarding my eclipse install. If I choose file>new> then look for Android it is not there. I have been working on this for 2 days now, I have researched everything in the forums and through google. Everyone says the ADT plugin is not install, but I have followed all directions and it is installed. I am able to open up the Android SDK manager right through eclipse and I did not get any errors when installing. I am an I.T. professional, and I try my best, but I am completley stumped here. I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 4 times. Any help would be grateful. Window 7 Ultimate Eclipse Juno, Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers, Android SDK /installer_r20.0.3-windows.exe ADT Plugin, downloaded from https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ I hope someone can help. The tutorials all seem to be straight forward, however, I am now at a loss.

I just finished uninstalling and reinstalling using this: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf I followed all the instructions as I have with the rest. At this point, the Eclipse version the article has me install is the Eclipse-Indigo version, and the android sdk was version 18. I ran the installer update for the Android sdk to version 20 to get the required Google API's version 2.2 and others. Everything went Flawless, as the other 4 installs, but still no File>new> Android project. I now have even less options in the File>new area. I am finished and am waiting for some kind of assistance. Perhaps a google article regarding this. Funny at the end of the article it says "Congratulations on making it through one of the more difficult parts of developing for Android" This was easy, it just isn't working right. Thanks ahead of time.

Do you have the Eclipse ADT Plugin installed? That appears to be the missing component. It's in the guide! Mark

Yes if I look here file-new-project that is there, but it does not do the same things as the Buzz U shows, and I can't reference what to do. I am trying to follow along with what they are teaching me, and the other BUZZ U lesson on Android show a new project, and they create it with File>New>Android This is really frustrating, to see a thousand tutorials, but none are working. I guess I should try Eclipse on my MAC

Thanks Mark, I have everything installed. I have installed the ADT plugin so many times, I could probably remember the link for it.

So, unless you are actually going to try and learn Java programming, and create your own Android app from scratch, I'd avoid the File...New...Android. The best thing to do is just create an app in buzztouch, download the source, and then do an Import...Existing App as I have outlined in the document. That'll get your Android project into Eclipse in a way you can do something with it. But, if you are wanting to start from scratch like in the videos...which are super great videos...then we need to figure out what's up. Mark

I am configuring eclipse with the sdk and adt plugin on my mac right now to see. Same thing. No File>new>Android I will try in my virtual XP mode tomorrow. Thank you for the Import suggestion, I was not aware. Also, I find it hard to believe that the File>new>Android is not available to me, as I followed all steps involved, and ran all updates needed. I cannot figure out what variable is missing. Thanks again GoNorthWest, I see you helping lots of lost people. Great work. I will post again after I try on my xp virtual system

One other thing...verify that Windows..Preferences...Android (from the Eclipse toolbar) is actually set to reference your Android SDK. Mark

Hello to all, I have now completed the install of Eclipse, or extracted the program files to the usage location I setup for it. I installed the Java JDK, and also installed the Android SDK, and installed the ADT plugin for eclipse, on my Win XP Pro Virtual Machine. I still cannot go to File>New>Android Project. The closest I get is Android Object, Android Application Project, Android Test Project Android Sample Project, and on and on. I have verified the my Windows>Preferences>Android build is pointing to where my SDK folder is, C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk and I can open the android SDK folder from Eclipse. I can create the emulater as well. Here is the thing, I am not a java programmer and I am using Buzztouch to start learning, but the process they show, I cannot do. I have installed Eclipse on my Win XP Virtual Machine, My Mac OSX Lion Virtual Machine, and my Win 7 Ultimate Production PC, and none of them show File>New>Android Object. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person who doesn't have that capability, and I do installs like this for a living. I get errors when I try to import the downloaded Buzztouch project. I am asking if anyone outthere has a fix, I am open to suggestions. I have also tried to open the java perspective, and close it and rest it, but if you go to Customize perspective, and then go to the Menu Visibility Tab, then expand File, then Expand New, here are the options where I should see and be able to choose the Android Project, but IT IS NOT THERE. Again, I find it hard to comprehend that I have followed the install docs to the T on basically 3 systems and over 7 installs, and still cannot get what is needed. pleeeeease help. I am all about asking for directions when lost.

Hello! When I do a File > New > Project, here is the dialogue box I get: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4993711/New_Project.png Does that look at all similar to yours? I am using Eclipse Indigo, but I can check on Eclipse Juno later and see what I see there. If you follow this path, you'd want to select "Android Project from Existing Code." If you do that, or do an Import, you are very likely to get errors. I have never had it open clean on the first time. It's generally one of two things: * You have to run Android Tools...Fix Project Properties. This solution is indicated in the Console pane * You see a whole bunch of errors that have to do with GeoPoint. This indicates you don't have the correct Google API selected (and that's essential...it can't be Android API). Check this stuff out and let me know where you stand. I'm up for a couple of hours, so we can do a Teamviewer session if you'd like me to help. Just email me at MrkFleming at gmail dot com! Mark

That PNG pic is exactly what I get. How come I don't get the option for New Android Project? Also, why don't you have that option?

I also have the same issue. I installed it 3 times and can never get File>New Android Project. And I tried to import using "New Android Project From Existing Code" Even though the .pdf tutorial said to select "New Android Project From Existing Source" -- One would inisitally assume there is no difference between the two, but I can't Start the Emulation due to my errors. I made a thread here --> http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=EC7A76D2F4B4432E89B55EB&tid=EC7A76D2F4B4432E89B55EB Which details my error messages ( http://i.imgur.com/GKm4I.jpg )
