SDK Manager failed to install despite turning off virus protection

I am just trying to get the 3 packages installed on my Windows 7 (64-bit) and while the Java element installed nicely, I am perplexed and need help in getting the SDK Manager to go. Despite all my efforts which included turning off (short of uninstalling) Kaspersky 2012 Internet Security, I get stuck at: "SDK Mgr failed to install, folder failed to be moved....." I would love to start working on this but this has got the Red Ape stuck high in a tree. Any suggestions? Red Ape

Hi @RedApe, Welcome to buzztouch! Eclipse can be a major pain. Couple of things to try: * Make sure Eclipse is shut down * Reboot * Right-click the install program and Run As Administrator Sometimes one of those does the trick. There is also this step-by-step, illustrated, start-to-finish guide for buzztouch and Android that might help: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf Let us know how it goes! We'll get it worked out! Mark

Thanks Mark. actually Eclipse is the last module to be installed of the trio. I am not supposed to install Eclipse until the SDK Manager is installed and that is where I am stuck. Any other ideas about getting the SDK Manager to install without the persistent error statement. Red Ape

Agreed...Eclipse should go last. I actually, after I wrote that post, did an install on my 32-bit Windows 7 computer, as I just rebuilt it. Went off without a hitch! Did you try to Run as Administrator? Mark

@red ape: reason your getting that "failed to move command" is because sdk cannot find your eclipse files and programs. 1.When you open your zip file for eclipse make sure to copy all the files included onto your desktop. 2.Once you make a copy open eclipse from your computer and not the winzip folder. 3.Run android sdk again and repeat the android package installation process for it.(no need to re install android sdk) http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf page 8 good luck
