@BigAnth- Ok I tested your app and found following things: 1. I think you have created this app using bt v1.5. Ans i really feel sad to inform you that quiz plugin does not work for android on bt v1.5. 2. The app also uses share feature like fb share and twitter share functions, again no luck here since these plugins wont work on android they are only for ios. 3. The splash screen works nice on your app, home screen is really nice one. but when i clicked the Your club option i found the menu list which has a black background and black text color. You need to rebuild this app on bt v 2.0. I will post links to some screen shots within few minutes.

Are you using some map screen in this app? I could not find one. This could be really a good app if it comes to market. Try building it on bt v 2.0. All the best.

Sandeep Thanks very much for your time in testing the app - i didnt realise 1.5 doesn't allow the quiz on Android Im working on a new 2.0v app which should work on android, wish there was an easy way of converting 1.5v to 2.0 haha again, thanks for your help :)

Actually i know one trick. Create a new app using bt 2.0 and then create all the same screens as in this app. Then just copy paste the bt config file data in the new apps config file on eclipse. This will work perfectly. But you will have to make this app offline by removing the backend link to bt server.

yes. downloaded and tested and can 2nd what Sandeep said. Also (and this just my opinion) the text above the buttons could be a more contrasting color to the backgrounds as black not real standing out. Also there are 3 buttons in a row then 1 button in next row so you May want to change it slightly to address this as you have loads of room on page but like I say just my opinion. It looks very nice though so let me know when its in market and I will download and give a review.

One more thing while copying the data from old config file to new config file remember you copy paste only relevant portion. Like the questions and answers of quiz.

Thanks Mr Stuck This app has been live on the App Store for a few months and i just recenetly thought about adding it to android - the menu/icon layout works perfectly for iPhone, if i was to mess around with the spacing/size it would affect the iOS app. @sandeep - i might give that a go, not sure how to make the app offline so would need to do a bit of reading

Just had a thought - if i did move it all over to 2.0v doing what you said i could just send an updated version to the App Store thats the theory, putting it into practice is harder !

Sorry but am sad to say I do not own a Mac so unable to use Xcode. Hoping to buy one soon as would really like to start making ios apps. I would like to try using Scringo in an app at some point as seems a good additional option.

Its not that diffucult to make an app offline. In config file you will find the link for bt server on line number 9 which is something like this: "reportToCloudURL":"xyz.com", All you need to do is remove that link and it should look like this after removing that link: "reportToCloudURL":"",

@BigAnth sorry I did not realize that. Just a suggestion, if you are happy with the ios app and you go to all the trouble of copying it all to a new 2.0 then use the new 2.0 version for android only then you can adjust as you please without the worry of affecting the ios version (just a thought)

Scringo sdk allows you to have a social feature in your app. Its like social platform exclusively for your app only. It has many features like chatting, inbox, sharing on fb, twitter, email and sms. It also has a radar feature which is like map and shows all the users on that map. You can use login feature by logging in using fb or twitter account details. I could have posted an apk file of my new android app here but since you are not having any device to test apk files i am helpless. However go and check the scringo.com website for more info.

@BigAnth- Since your app has base of some users and most of the users would be football fans this would be really cool feature addition in your app.

@Sandeep I have tried your app and its very nice. like the backgrounds and image layout. feels very professional . The 1 Thing I would say (and again just my opinion) I think re naming "jb achievement" to "jb Awards" would be more suitable. This would also shorten it slightly so it looks more tidy as rest of names are shorter and it sticks out a little compared to rest (not trying to pick tiny faults, just a suggestion) Its very good app. good luck with it. One more question. where do you obtain your images to use without fear of copyright infringements?

@Alan- Thank you for your feedback and suggesting to change the title of icon. I have made that change to JB Awards instead of JB Achievements as you suggested. I think you are asking about the background images in the app. Actually i prepared all the images myself including the icons and background images and the scringo images too. It took me about a week to customize scringo. The background image of Justin Bieber was created by using Serif DrawPlus. And Alan i think last night i posted older version apk of this app. There is an error in this apk file i think you have nit noticed it. The facebook login does not work on this app. Find the new apk file in the following link and i want you to test the facebook login. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/61663890/JB%20Fan%20Quiz%20Amazon%20v1.2.apk @BigAbth- Hey congratulations on having implemented scringo successfully in your ios app. Would you kindly help me in doing so in my app. I would be really grateful for your help in this matter. Send me a mail at - sandeepkurne (at) gmail (dot) com.

Back to Android, I have found that the background settings in default don't stick. You need to change each screen one by one.

@Sandeep. I clicked your Facebook option in the app list just above "options" to connect with wordbox. It logged in ok but When I went to click the "Home" or "Facebook" at the top of the page I get the "spinning wheel of death". and when trying to sign into chatbox with Facebook you are correct it jumps back and again gives wheel of death so it must be the older version. I will try downloading the new one you posted and let you know

@Sandeep. Still same wheel of death in same screens. Just apply the solution and it should resolve this. Strange how it attempts to take you to login screen in chatbox but then bounces back with wheel of death. Anyway I am sure you will work it out. Good app though.

no problem. you say you prepared the images yourself. but did you take the photos or did you download them from the internet. just asking as I am using images in apps I downloaded from the internet but even though I adjusted them they are still subject to copyright. I just wanted to know if you have a good image website where photos are not subject to copyright laws. thanks

Hi, Sandeep! Sure, I can elaborate. I have been focusing on making Android and iOS apps in parallel. There are several things I have learned--one of the primary factors is that iOS defaults to a white background with black text and Android defaults to a black background with white text. In addition, in both 1.5 and 2.0, if you set colors at the theme level, the theme works for iOS, but does not work for Android. So it is necessary to set the colors on each screen for Android. There are also some quirks about the row and list background colors-they work differently on Android than on iOS. I think the best thing to do is to work on both apps in parallel, keeping open both Eclipse and iOS, so you can see have the setting changes you make affect both.
