How do the activities know to look at the config file?

I have watched the config tutorial but I am still a little confused how it works. It appears that the activities and layouts reference the config file to get instructions on how to display different objects. What tells the activities and layouts to do that? And when I create an app outside of BT in Eclipse it doesn't have a config file, why is that?

Have a quick read about JSON and how it powers the Buzztouch process here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=8D6AA5CF54BD6CC267120B7&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=Json&createdBy=&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory= It's a good over overview of the magic behind BT. Hope this helps and as I said in other thread response, welcome the greatest app dev place available!

It appears that the activities and layouts reference the config file to get instructions on how to display different objects. The activities and layouts are using the JSON data to determine what to show. The Config file doesn't tell the files what to show. What's the difference the Config file is merely data. What tells the activities and layouts to do that? The programming logic. And when I create an app outside of BT in Eclipse it doesn't have a config file, why is that? Not all apps (.java files) use a Config file. In that case the data is in the .java file. The Buzztouch software operates by seperating the data from the logic. It provides you templates that combine with the data (Config file) to dynamically create the screen that's displayed. Fred
