Nexus 7 Tablet - Good device to test Android apps on?

Does anyone have the Nexus 7 tablet? Is this a good device to test BT Android apps on? I do not have an Android phone and for the money the Nexus 7 tablet seems to be the best solution. However, I want to make sure it is going to maximize my app test ability vs trying to find a used Android phone. Also, I'm assuming because this is a tablet although only 7" it is going to use the "large device" configuration settings from the BT control panel and not the "small device" settings?

I have a Nexus 7 tablet! It's pretty cool, and I've run and tested many BT apps on it. It will indeed use the large device configuration settings since the screen is larger than that of the standard phone device. But I think you'll want to design for a tablet as well as a phone. Mark

If you're going to get the Google Nexus 7 I would advise you to get the 16 GB version. Only $50 more. Having a tablet is an excellent tool for app development. Fred

Thanks GoNorthWest and Fred@mySkylla com for the information. I just took the plunge into the world of Android and purchased my first device. Nexus 7 (16GB) = (Tax and shipping) $277.93 Now I just have to figure out how to explain this to the wife!

What about the collapsible Bluetooth keyboard, carrying case, extra charger, headset, . . . Best to acquire all at one time so you only have to explain once. :-) Fred
