password protect different pages anyone have an idea or suggestion.

Does anyone know if you can have different levels of access in your apps. I want to unlock several pages to some users and different ones to others, but when I give them a login and password it opens all the pages that are protected to everyone. Anyone have and idea on this???? Thanks, Tony

Hey Tony, Until a plugin is developed, I would recommend just using PHP/HTML as a login form. There are many simple examples/source code via google. Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

LOGIN plugin is tricky. I'm currently trying to re-write the button action so that it re-directs to a new page. Here's how that current BT login thing works and how i use it now: 1) create a new menu (simple or advance, doesn't matter) 2) the first menu item should be the login screen 3) the rest of the menu items are all other screens that you specify to 'require login' Set-up the users in the CP and launch. You'll see the menu with the login screen listed and also the rows for the other screens. When you tap a screen it should say 'login required' Once you LOGIN then you can access those screens. Access remains until you close the app too. Note also access does remain if the app hibernates and the device wakes in the app. You'll see here that the issue I have is all users DO see the menu. You have to login to access the screens but you know it's there. That might help sales as people might want to know what is in those menus. But for a more secure app - The hacker in me thinks those items should not be displayed until AFTER you login.

Atrain, I haven't messed with the login screen yet, but hypothetically, what if your main screen WAS the login screen? Would your login (after success) trigger an action to launch a specified screen, like a menu list advanced? if not, should be easy to do? Cheers, David. buzztouchmods.com

I'd have to build a test app and try. IIRC I think I read the login screen (like the call us/text us) is an action and not a screen, so it can't be the home one. I tried a few things and the method I posted above worked best for me for now but i plan to mod. I can launch actions on buttons and launch other custom screens/views i made on button clicks. Launching BT screens on button actions, that is a little trickier.....

Hmmm would be interesting to see. I'm almost finished with a plugin myself that is a mirror to the login plugin (depends on it). Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com
