Error in Installing the archives for my SDK Manager

Hi, I'm using the Eclipse Juno running on my Windows 7. I've downloaded SDK Ver.20.0.1 and I can't install the archives with error message File not found:. For example, I tried installing the package Android SDK Platform 2.1_r3. And I accept all and press the 'Install' button and the error messages are as below:- Downloading SDK Platform Android 2.1, API 7, revision 3 File not found: C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdk empandroid-2.1_r03-linux.zip (Access is denied) Downloading Samples for SDK API 7, Revision 1 File not found: C:Program Files (x86)Androidandroid-sdk empandroid-2.1_r01-linux.zip (Access is denied) Done. Nothing was installed. And I'm also having problem with my Eclipse. I've installed the ADT Plug-in as what is in the instructions. Yet I can't create a new Android Project. I tried searching it by clicking New>Other...>Android> And under the Android dropdown, I can only find Android Activity, Android Application Project, Android Icon Set, Android Object, Android Project from Existing Code, Android Sample Project, Android Test Project, Android XML File, Android XML Layout File and Android XML Values File. Please help me since I'm new to application development. Thanks.

You'll wish to install Google 2.2 API level 8 and higher. To create a project choose from existing source code. Fred

Hi @gymmmx, Welcome to buzztouch! Here's a step-by-step, illustrated document that you can use to verify your installation: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf If all that looks good, try closing Eclipse, going to your Android SDK install directory, finding the SDK Manager executable, and starting it up by double-clicking. Then try and update. Sometimes having Eclipse open at the same time causes issues. If you still have some questions/problems after going through the document, let me know and we can set up some time for TeamViewer and I can check out your installation. Mark

I read your link, which is really good by the way..but..it says this: "So, it’s vitally important that for buzztouch v1.4, you select the Google APIs under Android 1.6 (API 4), and for buzztouch v1.5 and v2.0, you select the Google APIs under Android 2.2 (API 8)." I'm not getting them..I'm getting Tools, API15, API 13, API 11, API 10, API 8, and extras so I can't check API 4 and others. Please help?

Hi @LA, Welcome to buzztouch! You can actually use the Google API 8 with a BT v1.4 project if you wish. That's not a problem. However, if you bring up your Android SDK Manager, you should have the option to install the Google API 4, which is associated with Android 2.2. Do you see that option? Mark

I actually got that wrong. Google API4 is under Android API 1.6, and Google API8 is under Android API 2.1 (or 2.2, can't recall). So, you don't have any Google APIs available? Have you installed the Eclipse ADT Plugin? What do you see if you highlight your project in Package Explorer, right-click, Select Properties...Android. You should see a list of APIs. Mark

Don't install from the guide. directly download the latest version from the site.

Agreed. Getting the latest version from the site is the best way to go. The guide is just that...a guide to show you how things work! I'll get it updated to the latest version, but ultimately the recommendation should be to use whatever is on the site. Mark
