Getting back to the tabbed layout !!!

Hi I have created a App, and I'm in the final stages. I have choosen a tabbed layout, with a splash screen loading. The thing is if you tab one of the buttom tabs that leads you to a new menu, that can lead you even further in to the app, I'd like a "home button" to get me back to the tabbed menu once again. when my tabben menu loads the first tab is a blank page, with a nice cool background for the layout, if I refere this to the back button I get this page but NOT the tabbed menu. maybe this was a little difficult to understand, but I hope someone got it ? Best Nixon

Hi Nixon, I think I understand. One concept that confused folks sometimes is the idea of "hiding" the tabs when you transition from one screen to the next. Some apps do this, some do not. In your control panel you can set "hide bottom tab bar" on each screen. If you do this, the tab bar will go away when you tap an item. This concept is NOT applicable to Android. Not sure what you're working with (you didn't mention it). Android ALWAYS hides the bottom tab bar until you "back up" to to each tabs original home screen. Each tab has a home screen.

Hi David Hmm well.. I'm operating in Androide at the moment. I can always get "back" using the build in "back arrow" on the phone. But I'd like for it to be in the App instead. I have the "no do not hide the tab bar" in the >top navigation bar, bottom toolbar< but still if I choose to come to the screen that acctually launches after the splach in the beginning, I'm without any buttom toolbar... I'm stuck here :/

if I however link the "Home" button in the top right corner to the Splash screen it takes me to that and then back to the right menu. But seeing the Splash every time you need to go back home is a little stupid uh ?

Perhaps by using no splash screen and the web to app plugin you could accomplish what you seek. Fred

What you could do is build a home button into each the pages that you want to navigate back from. In the "Top Navigation Bar, Bottom Toolbar" properties for a page, add a home button in the nav bar by setting "Right Button Type" to home. Then set "Right Button Load Screen" to point to your splash screen. That should give you the effect you want. Alan

Problem is "How to get back to tabbed layout?" Using a splash screen will accomplish this. Then problem is seeing splash screen repeatedly. Using 0 for splash screen timer (not sure what the minimum is) would minimize seeing the splash screen repeatedly. Using the Web2App plugin you could simply link to it instead of the splash screen and on the web page have a button that says home. It'll take you home without need for splash screen. If I'm not mistaken the web page could be an embedded html doc. Fred
