BiznessApps

[New Note] Nov 11, 2012 Scott here. I'm amending my original post which trashed BiznessApps.com, the company I was working with at the time. And yes, I was unhappy. However, in the interceding months since that (this) post I have seen BiznessApps take steps to make their business more responsive to customer service and technical concerns. This makes it easier for me to develop, and get clients. [Original post below from Aug 11, 2012] [edited] I'm looking at BT for my dev needs. My primary biz is doing food ordering apps for restaurants/bars, etc. Can BT handle my needs NOW? thanks, sb

Buzztouch can handle your needs, but you'll need to take a look at the plugin list to see if you'll need to do some coding. Go to www.myskylla.com click on plugins. Fred

So you make apps for restaurants which people can place to make orders, correct? I'm assuming, for arguments sake, that say 'Pauls Indian Delights' uses you to code an app that users can use to browse menu and in turn place the order via the app, BT can more than handle your needs, you may have to do some custom coding or use techniques others have used in terms of interactive forms etc but you can easily call up the 'call restaurant via phone' function easily and email orders from completed forms with just a little bit of code editing from drop down lists etc. The forums on here are second to none and people will share expertise, tips and tricks freely. Not everyone will just reply 'look at my site' as a reply. Have a play around, see what you and BT can do and what you need help with and users - both iOS and Android - will step in and fill the gaps. Happy apping my good man.

@MacApple, you're a known stalker that picks fights by making remarks. Own up to yourself get some clinical help. Quit commenting about me, following my posts, and get a life. I'm simply responding to your harrasment and stalking. Just thought people should be able to judge you properly. Enjoy the results of you activities. Do you really wish to be known as a stalker and harrasser, if so continue. Fred

Forgot to post what people say about you MacApple, here it is: "Since we are sharing opinions here I would like to say to you MacApple, that my opinion of you is that you are a very sarcastic, condesending and narcissistic individual." Mind you not my words, but I agree. Fred

Or perhaps you prefer this quote: Since you are fond of sayings how about this one... If you have nothing good to say, It's better to say nothing at all. If I were like you I would tell you to go translate the above saying in google, but I will spare the sarcastic comment. Bottomline... Your take away from this should be... I am not a fan of your condescending, sarcastic, I know best comments at the expense of hurting others. *** Again not my words, but well said. Fred

You're the one always comparing me, commenting about me. If I'm so irrelevant to you why bother. If my work is so bad let others judge it accordingly. But why continue to stalk and make remarks about me. I don't comment about your every post. I could care less about you. But I feel it's proper to respond to you when you make remarks about me. You're annoyed when anyone challanges your iOS is better nonsense. Find an iOS site for your nonsense. Fred

The original post is about "is Buzztouch capabable". I could have said go check out the Buzztouch plugins on the Buzztouch site, but that's only part of the story. My site lists all known plugins. Which is more useful? The fact that MacApple gets annoyed that my site has useful info is his problem. Fred

He wanted to know if Buzztouch is capable. My reply is yes. Check out the possible plugins, (Buzztouch & third party) from that they can decide if the current plugins will do the job or if he'll need to do some coding. Perhaps you believe I shouldn't point out the third party plugins. If so that's your opinion. Either way macapple continuing remarks are unnecessary. Fred

In another thread someone asked a question. My reply was read my Buzztouch & Google maps article. Here's their reply, " It work perfectly, thank you Fred, another question though . . ." Perhaps my site doesn't meet everyone's expectations, (if so make your own) but it does help Buzztouch users. Very many. So enjoy be nice, don't be hateful, sarcastic or make pointed remarks and we'll all get along. Fred

@GadgetWerx your right i have look into almost every service for app building and this is were you want to be with the new tool guru david has release you will be able to make some custom screens with the help of a developer will it least in my case but long run you will be saving a lot of money because its your source code not like other services were you have to be paying a monthly fee and per download buzztouch gives you a good stat up for making your apps hope that helps

@GadgetWerx: Thanks a ton for wading through this non-sense. I'm embarrassed to see that an argument has taken over your question / post. My first reaction was to remove all the childish remarks (naturally I would want to do this) but I have not because I'm not one to remove "context" from the forums. Before getting to your sincere question: As you can tell, @MacApple and @Fred have struggled to understand each other for quite sometime. It's my opinion that the reason they are so passionate about these topics is because they genuinely want to see buzztouch, and it's users succeed. Sometimes users in the forum disagree with another users style and approach. In this case, @Fred is offended by @MacApple's claim that he "only posts links to his site" instead of "answering questions directly." This is not the first time these two have argued - obviously. We'll continue to council both of them in an attempt to find a balance. Maybe put up a boxing ring? Question: There are countless ways buzztouch COULD help you get your apps going how you need. We're proud to say you can "do anything" (because you get the source code for your projects) but a steep learning curve is necessary for most people. It's not as simple as it may first appear. Click here, click there, add a plugin, etc. In almost all cases there will be some tweaking, adjusting, improving necessary after downloading your project to make a high quality professional app. High quality is the key here. We're trying to help folks understand the process, provide them some tools to make app ownership easier, and to speed up the development process. We are not trying to make templates, cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all solutions. I'm happy to help answer any more questions you may have if you're afraid to post in the form again. In this case (if the forum is ruined for you), send me an email and we'll go from there.

I just wanted to share my experiences, as I also have some experience of bizz-apps. In some ways the technology approach is similar and I felt it was OK at the time, but there was something about it that I wasn't comfortable with - possibly more to do with the way it is promoted and advertised. Maybe just a feeling, but I have been in IT for a while. Anyway, I then started to look around and I discovered Buzztouch. In my opinion, Buzztouch is a very strong product, not perfect but growing and improving all the time. You can develop with no strings attached and the scope for building apps without knowledge of Xcode is great. And if you understand Xcode, the possibilities for tweaking are there too. One of the things that really makes Buzztouch is the community spirit, with passionate and (mostly) friendly people, a couple of whom you've met already. Exchange of opinions and views is normally friendly and constructive and thats why a relative newcomer like me is happy to post and exchange. Hope that helps, Alan

Oh, and as to whether it can answer your needs now, the answer I would give is probably. Without understanding the detail of your requirements, maybe completing an online form hosted on a webserver and viewed through a buzztouch page could work? Alan

@GadgetWerx I am truly sorry mate. As you'll no doubt be aware there are a ton of folk on here that will burn the midnight oil to help you and the community out. The forum never has threads like this, well seldom. I should have been smarter than the above and to be perfectly honest I'm embarrassed. Please accept my sincere apologies. I was sitting out on my porch with a few friends chatting about BT and apps when two emails came through saying there were comments added to a couple of threads I was involved in. Turns put both were from @Fred and he was laying into me quoting a year old remark that I still stand by. It really did ruin my night but that is no excuse for me ruining your thread. All the best in your quest buddy @David shouldn't have to moderate my posts especially since he gave us this wonderful platform to create and not bicker.

@GadgetWerx, point well taken. Regarding MacApple, he protest too much of his innocence. He claims this started because of my laying into him. Perhaps he missed the, " In this case, @Fred is offended by @MacApple's claim that he "only posts links to his site". Again no need for sarcasm and pointed remarks. Layoff of me, you'll get the same in return. Unfortunately the Forum is not moderated and certain individuals chose to harass others. McApple almost ran another major contributor off the Forum with his remarks. It'll not work with me. As many people say, don't start nothing you don't wish to finish. That said, my next post shall be about Buzztouch, I trust his will be the same. Fred

@All It's all good. Let's move on. I am super-buzzed about making stuff happen here. So far, the overall vibe here is far more positive and REAL than what was going on with BiznessApps. The fact that there IS a community that can share information is a really big deal to me. I should have trusted my gut last month when I was poking around here that this is a good place. Live and learn, eh? @David No worries. I'm a veteran of forum flame wars (VFFW). It happens, and isn't doesn't scare me away. I'd only be worried if the flames were continual, and unabated. Seems like the community doesn't want flame wars. Good sign. Cheers, Scott

WOW. I've never seen this kind of thing on here before. I subscribed to Buzztouch in the hope of making some $ on the side lines. The thing I really liked about it was the push notifications and the fact that the end user had control over the app. They market it so heavily though that I wasn't able to sell 1. There are 4 other people contacting the same businesses every week!! So for me - I canned that as I was paying a monthly subscription for apps that I couldn't sell. I love Buzztouch. The support is the best I have ever had on a forum and people genuinely care and want you to succeed. David is right - what can seem like a simple process up front can consume many hours of your life, but the more you sit at the faster it becomes. I have tried many other platforms, but Buzztouch is the only one that I have actually been able to get an app to completion and published - I think that speaks volumes. All the best. Christine

To anyone reading this thread - I'm editing my original post here. Why? Because when I first posted here, I was venting because I'd had some bad experiences with Bizness Apps support, just like the original author of this post. Some months later, to their credit, I'm pleased to say that Bizness Apps have taken steps to resolve the issues I had, and even more impressively, have apologized to me personally. Even better, they have also taken genuine steps to compensate me for the loss I endured. I've had bad service and been miffed with companies before, but this is the first time ever that someone has gone out of there way to rectify the situation, I'm impressed.

[New note] Nov 11, 2012 I'm amending this comment too. I posted this one on Sept 22, 2012, and at the time I unsubscribed to the BiznessApps.com service. A few weeks later, due to one of my clients requesting service, I re-subscribed, this time under better terms. The BiznessApps people have recently contacted me personally to rectify my issues. I can say this makes me happier. sb [original post removed by author]

As mentioned earlier, I've edited this post to be fair to Bizness Apps. Yeah I had some issues but they've not only fixed the situation, they apologized and made things right. I think they grew so fast they were bursting at the seams. I wasn't happy when I first posted but I'm happy with them now.
