Cannot find Android Project option under File in Eclipse

I have installed ADT Plugin following the instructions given. I found "Android SDK" & "AVD Manager" under "Window". However, I cannot find "Android Project" under "File" as told in tutorial.

Hi @CG, Welcome to buzztouch! This means you don't have the Eclipse ADT Plugin installed. That's what you need to enable all the Android options. Here is a step-by-step, illustrated document that'll guide you through the whole process: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf Once you get ADT installed, I bet you'll be good! But let us know if you still have problems. Mark

I have the exact same problem and I'm sure I have the ADT plugin installed. (it shows in "allready installed programs"). I can however, open new "android application projects" and " android projects from existing source". I'm starting to suspect it's just because my eclipse version is different? I use juno. It's annoying because this way I can't follow the BTU step by step. I tried to figure it out myself and googled around (reinstalled the plugins/eclipse/both, switched between 64 and 32 BIT because I read there are problems with 64BIT java 7 and 32bit eclipse, installed support package from SDK) but it all did not work. Any thoughts? EDIT: I'm realizing this is due to a later version of eclipse. I managed to get my first app working by using the import command described in the tutorial above rather than project.

****"I can however, open new "android application projects" and " android projects from existing source"." Perhaps it's a terminology issue. Buzztouch provides the Source Code that you use in Eclipse. You don't wish to create new source code (Buzztouch has done it already, you just download it). You create a new (Android) project in Eclipse from existing (Buzztouch) source code. You can "import" the project, Or create the new project "using existing source code". Fred A screenshot would help

I think the terminology is different due to a different version of eclipse compared to the buzztouch U. I understand how they compare now. Thanks for the help This is how it looks like: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/402/screenshoteclipse.png/

Hi, I think it is a version thing.. I also tried the the 64/32 versions, Classic, Juno, etc on both Win& and Mac.... .. and the menu item is missing on all of them. Some guidance on tjhe best options for the import would be usefule, please. Options 'Copy project to workspace" and "add project to working sets" are asked for..
