Google will soon release an App Store YT app which will be far better than the current offering. Google did nothing with the App for last few years so this will force them to build a better one. Google licensed and didn't control YouTube on the iPhone. Apple did. It was great initially because there wasn't anything else like it, but it has remained static for years. Since then almost any YouTube video can be watched within Safari. Often even at a higher bitrate because the YouTube.app switched to lower quality when on 3G. I ditched YouTube (via parental settings) a few months ago." Buzztouch HTML Doc screen may be you answer.
