Android Arrrghhhhhhh. No Back button, no rss, gallery errors

Finally cleared the 598 errors. using custom url for the rss feed there is no back button can't get it to display , the physical back exits the app, when gallery page is used with the same setup as iOS the app is force closed. It's mad in my first year IT degree best practice write thisThat oh no not android only lowercase bizarre. Sorry for the rant feel like I'm going mad. Rant over Edit BT self hosted

Perhaps you're using BTv1.5. Suggest you go to www.MySkylla.com and read my guide to Buzztouch Screens & Plugins. Then read The Buzztouch Process. Fred

Android is indeed challenging, regardless of whether you know what screens are or are not supported, whether you understand the naming convention, the need for Google APIs, or a myriad of other things! Keep plugging away, though, and pretty soon it'll become second nature. Mark

there is no back button can't get it to display , The back button you refer to is an iOS thing, and you shouldn't use it. Yesterday someone indicated that their attempt to use the button caused errors. " the physical back exits the app" That's the Android Way from the home screen. Fred

If you are using version 2.0, find and un-comment this section: /* Hardware Back-Key, uncomment as needed. Uncomment this to make the hardware back-key act like a browser back button Warning: If you do this the user will need to go "back" the number of times they when "forward" to return to the previous screen. @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event){ if ((keyCode == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_BACK) && webView.canGoBack()){ webView.goBack(); return true; } //not the back-key.. return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); } */ This works great. For reference, I just moved the '*/' to just before the '@Override' like this: /* Hardware Back-Key, uncomment as needed. Uncomment this to make the hardware back-key act like a browser back button Warning: If you do this the user will need to go "back" the number of times they when "forward" to return to the previous screen. */ @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event){ if ((keyCode == KeyEvent.KEYCODE_BACK) && webView.canGoBack()){ webView.goBack(); return true; } //not the back-key.. return super.onKeyDown(keyCode, event); }

This will help so many people. It's little things like this that makes me glad I've got an iPhone. The old nokias used to do my head in press the wrong button and you were back on home screen. I'm just trying to figur out the gallery next

@MGoBlue, how would you make it into a "Home" button? Fred

Don't know about that. This just let's the standard Android back button function as a web browser back button. Works great. The Android programming is a challenge for me, but I'm hacking around and getting things to work.
